After a bit of a hiatus, I started working on the huge vacuum tube tesla coil again yesterday. If the next week goes smoothly, I'll have this video ready by Christmas!
The coil is tuned to a low frequency that should encourage large, branching arcs that resemble a tree, thus it will be my "million volt Christmas tree" assuming everything works out.
EVERYTHING on this coil is overbuilt, which means my breakers are going to be my limit in power input. Even so, I'm planning on feeding it nearly 10kW, which will make this one of the most powerful vacuum tube tesla coil builds out there.
Stay tuned!

That cap bank is intense.

I'm curious as to how long it took to calculate it. However, more concerning is how do the caps not all arc and short?

I hammered and drilled a bunch of copper pipe to make the connections. Yes that was tedious lol

That's epic. How did you make that wicked cap bank??
