So there I was in my local drug store (chemists to you Brits), waiting in a long line to pick up a prescription, and realized to my shock and horror that I was standing in the middle of the pregnancy aisle. This wouldn't be so bad, except that I found myself directly opposite the lactation support display. I couldn't fucking believe it, all the shit I've been writing about for years sitting on shelves a couple feet in front of me. Lactation vitamins and supplements, nipple creams, mother's milk bars and cookies*—fucking cookies! I keep trying to live in the clean world, but a hundred stories instantly occurred to me: mischievous witch, angry sister, thirsty husband, mistake at the lab, the list goes on. It's funny how and where the muse can strike, especially waiting in line at fucking Target.
