The reason this season has so much social issues I think is because of Jackson’s actor. I heard he asked the production team to have more episodes regarding social issues, which is why the “racist cop” storyline was added. But I guess they went way too overboard with the politics in this season, which is why season 3 is not that well received.

Sorry you didn’t like season 3 episode 7. The “documentary” style episode does come back in future seasons but don’t worry, the plot for those are way better and are actually important instead of feeling like filler.
