Status update - 2018-09-25
🕑 Added 2018-09-25 06:45:29 +0000 UTC Time for a new update. :-)What I recently did:
iTunes FileSharing for iOS
Starting work on the iOS version opened a box of pain. For the last few months I let Unity Cloudbuild take care of creating the iOS binaries. But getting it to compile on my Mac and run fine on my own test devices proved difficult and it took me a days to find the causes and eventual fixes. And yesterday I was able to setup and finalize the iTunes File Sharing feature. On iOS the file browser is now available like on the other platforms, but it will only show the directory used for the file sharing. Users are now no longer restricted to using the wireless session transfer and can use this (more convenient) way to add sessions to their MMM library.
With this the iOS store version is feature complete. It will benefit from bugfixes of course, but there are no more platform specific things I need to do before this go live.
Improved synchronicity of strobe effect
Not much to say about this. It's a bit better now. :-)
Bug Fixes
A few more bugs have been taken care of. Namely:
- misplaced display of loading animation in VR
- visible black "dot" in center of some spirals
- unable to quit PowerNap session via menu
What I hope to accomplish next (completely unchanged):
Bring back Daydream controller support
The beta 1 does not support the Daydream controller as Unity isn't able to track that one, yet. It's high time I fix that for MMM so that owners of a Daydream can make best use of it.
Beta 2
After bringing back the Daydream controller support I want to create a new beta version. As always, Alpha supporter will be the first to get access.
