Status update - 2018-03-13
🕑 Added 2018-03-13 07:47:22 +0000 UTCAs mentioned last week, I want to do this on a weekly basis. I had a bad cold (or a not too rough flu) and did certainly not accomplish everything I hoped for.
What I recently did:
NEEHU edition
Right after last weeks status post, the first reports of bugs for v0.9.N came in. More than usual even. It took me well over a day to fix all oof the problems, partially caused by how I manage platform and version differences, partially by sloppiness on my side and last but not least genuine bugs.
New platform management
Triggered by the problems I had with v.0.9.N I realised that I need to find a better way to manage platforms and versions. Up until now I used to manage code in 4 different git branches. One for the 2D version, one using Cardboard VR, one for DayDream VR and one with Oculus/OpenVR.
Now I took the time to learn a feature from Unity's cloud build system. After two days of researching and testing the not too documented feature, I was finally able to build 2 different versions from the sam git branch. I know, for most of you that's techy mumbo-jumbo. So, let's just say, my work right before a release to handle to platform is more streamlined now and a lot less prone to errors.
Subliminal-Settings in SessionMaker
Late yesterday I completed the work in SessionMaker to edit/save/load subliminal settings. As a creator you can now modify 8 different parameters: StayTime (Min And Max if you want variation), Scaling (also Min and Max), FadeIn & FadeOut time, maximum opacity and of course the interval used to show another subliminal. Of course you can haver different settings for image and text subliminals.
Now only MMM needs to read and use those settings.
SessionMaker on high resolution displays.
I got one report here on Patreon that all the text in the SessionMaker was tiny. I figure this must happen on all high-dpi displays at least on Windows. I built a fix for that now and will have to ask a friend with a retina-macbook to check the fixed version on there as well since I can only test it on Windows myself.
What I hope to accomplish this week:
Subliminal settings
While I completed the work on the SessionMaker for this feature I still need to make sure that the new subliminal settings are loaded correctly when running a session that has them.
Store content (unchanged from last week)
It's high time I took care of the content of the "Mind Massaging Machine" for the store releases. First I have to create concept for a second mind massage. Second I need to edit and finalize the voice recordings for the three hypnosis sessions. Third I need to start on creating the sessions themselves (spirals, texts, braintrainment, etc.).
Finalize platform/version management
I need change all variations for all platforms to use what I built last week. I'm really looking forward to it.
