“Susanne …” Andrew gasped, trying to speak, “You can’t take the pill…” But Susanne cut him off before he could explain. Her index and middle fingers materialised above Andrew and pinned his arms to the wooden table. “I won’t ask again,” she spat, “Where is the pill?!”

Andrew’s voice was weak from his injuries but he managed to explain before Susanne lost it, “She had to crush the pill so that I could take the right dose. That dust in the sachet is the right dose of the pill.”
Susanne’s face lit up and she stood, quickly forgetting about the insignificant creature on the floor. She ripped open the bag and observed the fine dust. Finishing up with the vacuum, Julita switched it off, wiping a bead of sweat from her forehead. Deciding to take a break before she went on to clean the windows, she took a quick seat on the old rocking chair in the living room.
