Chapter 714 : Spam till you Win!
🕑 Added 2024-08-04 18:21:31 +0000 UTCNeji coughed, spitting out blood. He looked at Naruto and wondered, ‘What the hell was that? How was he able to infuse so much chakra in the same jutsu and increase its strength to such a level? Why does he even know such a strong jutsu?’
Before he could find an answer, his eyes widened as he saw Naruto's chakra moving in the same way it did a few minutes ago. He once again released chakra from his chakra points while cursing, ‘Crap! How many times can he use this jutsu? Why does he still have so much chakra?’
For the first time, Neji was more than a bit nervous. Unlike Naruto, his chakra reserves were extremely limited. Even so, he still trusted his defense. However, there were quite a few who didn't have that luxury.
“Holy fucking hell! That demon is making the same fucking hand seals!”
“Stop! Stop! Are you crazy? Do you want to kill all of us???”
“That Hyuga kid is not at the center of the arena this time. He is very close to the wall. If he attacks here, then we…”
“Fuck! STOP KID!”
“Mommy, I'm sorry. I won't ever force you to bring me here.”
“I'm sorry! I'll never look at you hatefully again! Please stop your attack!”
The audience behind Neji was in full panic mode! Young children were in tears. The adults who mistreated Naruto were now sorry. Quite a few people were trying to run away while several kids and even more adults fell unconscious due to fear.
The civilians weren't the only ones who were afraid. The ordinary-looking lady, who was glancing at Fujin earlier, nervously wondered, ‘Have our plans been leaked? Does Konoha intend to launch a surprise attack using the excuse of the Chunin Exam?’
Hoka looked at the commotion awkwardly and asked, “Should we help out?”
Fujin's group was quite far away from the line of attack. So, none of them had made a move so far. However, realizing that some people may die, a few of them became nervous.
Renjiro answered, “It's fine. Arrangements are made to stop any attacks from harming the audience in every Chunin Exam. It's just that Naruto's attack caught them off guard.”
As Renjiro spoke, four Anbu ninjas made a move. They flickered and appeared on top of the walls while weaving hand seals. Just before Naruto's attack could hit the audience, a barrier appeared in front of them and stopped the winds!
Orochimaru keenly observed the barrier and realized, ‘The barrier team is much stronger than what they usually keep. As expected, they're here to keep Gaara in check. Unfortunately for them, they have foolishly given away their location. Who'd have thought that Naruto would help me…’
A smirk appeared under his mask as he said, “That's quite a Genin you've got there, Lord Hokage. His strength is more than enough to be classified as a Chunin. Even some Jounins may suffer against him.”
Hiruzen replied, “True, but there are a lot of requirements to become a Chunin. I'm sure you understand, Lord Kazekage.”
Even though the barrier protected the audience, Neji still had to bear the brunt of the attack. He couldn't keep using Rotation endlessly. Hayate frowned, calculating, ‘Under such intense winds, Neji will die if he can't sustain his jutsu. How can I save him if that happens? Sigh, why are the battles so troublesome?’
Hayate was feeling helpless. First Gaara and now Naruto, there wasn't anything he could do about their attacks. He just hoped that someone stronger would rescue Neji.
Naruto's classmates kept watching with dumbfounded expressions. Not a single one imagined that Naruto would overwhelm Neji in this manner. Of course, his generation wasn't the only ones who were shocked.
Ibiki frowned and asked, “Who decided to teach him how to supercharge jutsus?”
Anko glanced at Fujin and said, “I heard that Kakashi had given Naruto to Fujin. Seeing the smile plastered on his face, we don't need a second guess.”
Ibiki sighed and muttered, “Not only is he troublesome, but he's making others more troublesome as well.”
Kotetsu and Izumo had stopped commenting entirely. Both were left speechless by Naruto's display. The winds finally died down. Everyone looked curiously at Neji. As the dust cleared, they saw him on his knees while breathing heavily. He looked completely spent. It was a rather pitiful sight. Yet, everyone's respect for him increased. After all, not many would survive as long as he did.
Once again, Naruto exclaimed in shock, “What the hell is up with this guy? Why can't my Wind attacks hit him?”
“Boss, he is on his knees! He definitely can't take another attack.”
“That's right! Give him another big one!”
Naruto weaved hand seals once again while shouting, “It doesn't matter even if he gets up ten more times! I can do this all day!”
The entire stadium, except for one person, looked at Naruto with a dumbfounded expression. Hiruzen resisted the urge to facepalm as he questioned, ‘Didn't he spend only 3 days with Fujin? How did he get influenced so much?’
Meanwhile, Hoka and Renjiro stared at Fujin while thinking, ‘There's no doubt about it! It's his doing! As quirky as Naruto is, he wasn't someone who'd abuse his advantage to this extent!’
Fujin ignored their gazes and didn't even bother covering up his smile. He said, “Guy, you may wanna step in. Neji isn't in a state to endure another attack.”
Guy nodded seriously. He had realized that as well.
Neji observed Naruto supercharging his jutsu once again and analyzed, ‘I can't sustain the rotation for another couple of minutes. How do I counter him?’
“That's enough! Hyuga Neji is in no shape to continue this battle. Uzumaki Naruto is the winner.” Seeing that Neji was in no state to continue, Hayate invoked his powers as the proctor and announced loudly, putting an end to the battle.
Naruto stopped channeling his chakra and muttered, “Huh? I won?”
His clones were surprised by Hayate's announcement as well. Neji's body finally gave away and he collapsed to the ground.
Silence engulfed the stadium before the majority of the audience broke into a loud cheer. Only the section of the audience behind the barrier was silent. However, they too began celebrating. It was just that instead of celebrating Naruto's victory, they were celebrating that the match was finally over!
Sakura shouted, “Yes! Naruto won!”
Ino exclaimed, “That was incredible.”
Others cheered as well while several senior ninjas were impressed by the skill Naruto displayed. For Konoha, a village where the majority of the ninjas practiced Fire jutsus, a ninja who could spam supercharged Wind jutsus was someone most wanted in their squads.
Naruto was surprised to hear everyone cheering for him. In a few seconds, a wide grin appeared on his face and he began celebrating too.
Hiruzen smiled, thinking, ‘In this aspect, Naruto will leave even Fujin behind. If he learns how to harness the Nine Tails’ chakra better, he could launch supercharged jutsu for hours. Still, I need to have a word with Naruto. If he uses supercharged Wind jutsus inside the village, the village's funds will bleed dry in no time…’
Even Orochimaru looked at Naruto with interest. He hadn't expected Naruto to make such gains in so little time.
In the waiting room, Kankuro muttered in disbelief, “I underestimated this knucklehead. His Wind Release might be stronger than yours, Temari.”
Temari frowned. She was already having a hard time accepting that Fujin, who was only a year older than her, was so much better than her at Wind jutsus. Seeing Naruto's supercharged Wind jutsus ignited competitiveness in her heart.
The medics finally came to take Neji away. Naruto stopped celebrating and looked at him. Neji said, “To think you kept such a card hidden. I admit, I underestimated you. If I had known earlier…”
Naruto cut him off and said, “Your eyes can't see which jutsus I know and think that they can see fate? Since I defeated you, doesn't it mean that the fate you saw was nothing but fake? So, shut up about fate and destiny. You shouldn't whine about such things!”
Neji didn't say a word. He had nothing he could say to prove Naruto wrong. Fujin heard their conversation and thought, ‘Interesting. Since he used Wind jutsus to attack, Neji didn't get an opportunity to seal Naruto's chakra points and tell him about the caged bird seal of the Hyuga clan… Still…’
Fujin glanced at Hiashi and concluded, ‘Yeah, he won't be letting this opportunity go.’

canon is like living with blinders on and seeing nothing, but if you're here does it mean that maybe you want to see a different future for the protagonists of naruto?

the only 'canon' destiny is that naruto and sasuke must become like brothers, argue and then clash with naruto who is as strong as/more than sasuke. I think the rest is needed to make this happen. everything that happens around can be changed via the butterfly effect, with the understanding that fujin can also destroy the fate of the brothers by killing sasuke, even if he doesn't do it.

ultimately it was kishi trying to highlight clan specialties since he made a huge deal about it but also kishis thinking being limited as he was too focused on the plot that he forgot such things. In Boruto they do a better job at incorporating everything one could possibly learn and that's cause the writers had time to go back and see how much potential they wasted 😂

You know thinking about it...them being mad or concerned hes abusing his advantage is kinda hypocritical because everyone abuses their advantage in combat no one is excused even HIRUZEN can be called out for using his kind grandpa persona to trick people. I think the element of a public library with jutsus is also typical of fanfics. Because as you can see, each clan passes on the knowledge of jutsus from generation to generation, or to their students depending on the case. It was perhaps close to how genin and chunin learn only through their superiors and colleagues.

If I recall correctly, it is mentioned that elemental jutsus are expected to be developed in the Chunin Stage, then that something like controlling two elements is necessary to be a jounin. Outside of that are the trainings of shapeshifting and nature transformation which are to create new jutsus and require a lot of training. In the time skip, only chunin and higher ranks are the ones who use elemental jutsus, outside of that are both secret techniques and bloodline abilities. And it is also where genin are seen the least. In addition to that, it is something that is used as an element of focus in some fics about how unprepared at least the young ninjas of Konoha are, also considering that the number of ninjas is something that jumps brutally from one moment to another in the fourth war. In fanfics they exploit the fact that it is a military village and make it seem that there are more ninjas within its history. Well, in the canon there is nothing like genin reserves as mentioned in some fics. In fact, the graduation rate is low, which indicates that there are few ninjas, more like the adventurer guild system than forming a military force. And that ninja clans do not even number more than a hundred each. For this reason, clans sometimes seem like just a family, with several cousins, instead of real clans that joined together to form a village/country.

I can agree with that Devil Hex, but I’d wish instead of all the filler after the exam they showed the clan kids incorporating Other things into their clan style like shikamaru learning earth and fire style to create shadows or Ino learning fuinjutsu so when she possesses someone she could seal them that would have been better then just watching Naruto and his team on missions

Thought about this considerably while starting this fanfic as it really didn't make any sense logically for the clan ninjas (especially the successors of each clan) to not specialize in multiple aspects. The answer is kinda simple 😅 Even though the ninja clans are supposedly huge, we see very few ninjas from them (mostly we just see Naruto's classmates). And even they don't appear very frequently. He shows them use only the clan techniques because no one else in the story would use them. If he had them use elemental ninjutsus, then it would reduce the screen time the clan's secret techniques get even more. That's pretty much it 😅 (or at least that my point of view). Fanfic writers kinda have an advantage here as we don't need to build up the clan secret techniques as everyone is already familiar with them. So, we can focus more on the logic aspect.

kishimoto never expanded on it (like with most things in the series) but if i had to guess a canon reason, itd probably be clan pride or some shit like that, at least when it comes to why neji and the rest of the clan kids dont use elemental jutsus. as for tenten... idk shes just useless

You know I never got why if Guys team skip the previous years exam why Neji and tenten never learned a elemental jutsu I know Guy and Lee can only use taijutsu, but the other two have access to a public library filled with them and if they needed more help Guy is bound to know someone who could help them

Hahaha this could turn out well in a Team 7 vs Gaara. Although in this case there is an element that can or cannot be used and that is that Gamakichi is a fire user, and Gamabunta is a Water user although he also uses Oil. They could perfectly do the combo that Jiraija did against Shukaku, although of course that could set the whole forest on fire. Although Naruto's wind jutsus could give good support to Gamabunta/Gamakichi (if in his current state he can use fire). Naruto's victories will feel very well deserved and that luck and plot armor do not save him in the end. Besides the joke that the losers only have to listen to the winners XD, the talk no jutsu will make him unbeatable
