Chapter 683 : Saisho no Hikari

Samui had said what she did only due to frustration caused by Fujin's antics. She wanted to intimidate him with the Raikage's strength but never imagined that her opponent would take it as a challenge instead of a threat!
Before they could understand how to respond, Fujin said, “Before I leave, let me teach you youngsters something about controlling Lightning.”
The Kumo ninjas were once again confused. After going through such a weird but intense battle, they didn't expect their opponent to ‘guide’ them.
Darui wondered, ‘What the hell is up with this guy? First, he kills dozens of our ninjas and creates an irreconcilable enmity with our village and then he wants to guide us and give us tips to become stronger?’
Once again, the possibility of Fujin being an ancient expert solidified in the hearts of the Kumo elites. As much as they hated him and wanted to see him die, they were looking forward to his ‘guidance’.
Fortunately, they didn't know that the one they considered an ancient expert was actually younger than any of them, had far less experience with the Lightning Release than them and loved to confuse the hell out of his opponents. Heck, even most of the ninjas hiding inside the barrier had a greater experience than Fujin in this regard! If they did, their expressions would have been a sight to watch.
Fujin continued, “No matter how good your control over Lightning is, there are only two factors that matter when using Lightning. How effective you are depends on how wild and unpredictable your Lightning is. If you lack in either of these two aspects, then it doesn't matter how strong you are. You'll never be able to use Lightning as it should be.”
Suddenly, a Lightning charge appeared around Fujin and he disappeared! Samui raised her guard and asked while looking around, “Where is he?”
C looked up in the sky and shouted, “Above us!”
Everyone looked above and saw Fujin nearly a couple hundred meters in the sky! Their eyes widened in horror as they saw a sight too familiar to them!
“Impossible!”
“There's no way!”
“How can he use that technique?”
Even the elites of one of the strongest hidden villages couldn't keep their cool. However, they couldn't really be blamed as what they were seeing was truly shocking.
In the sky, Fujin's body was covered in armor made of Lightning! For the first time, both Yugito and Darui were scared. As strong as they were, they had no confidence in facing someone who might be at the same level as their leader!
Needless to say, what Fujin was using wasn't the Raikage's Lightning Chakra Mode. Instead, it was Raiga's Thunder Armor. The difference between the two techniques was like Heaven and Earth but they were very similar in appearance. Hence, just like Fujin, the Kumo ninjas also mistook it for the Raikage's technique.
Floating 200 meters up in the sky, Fujin brought his two hands together, quite similar to how Onoki did when he prepared his Atomic Dismantling jutsu. In between his hands, a dense chakra began rotating rapidly, looking like a deformed sphere. Before it could stabilize, the armor around Fujin's body began infusing Lightning into that deformed chakra construct as it slowly began stabilizing.
In a few seconds, the Lightning armor disappeared and all the Lightning merged perfectly with the dense chakra and formed a perfect sphere. If one were to take a glance at it, they'd see merely a sphere of light, which was what the Kumo ninjas saw from the ground. However, if one were to take a closer look, they'd notice small Lightning sparks occasionally escaping the sphere. Even though those charges didn't look very threatening, in reality, they contained horrible destructive power and could annihilate anyone who dared to touch it!
On the ground, the Kumo ninjas became very tense. Even though all they could see was a sphere of light, the intense chakra emitted from the sphere made them nervous. Their instincts were screaming to stay away from that sphere.
C wondered aloud, “What is that white sphere in his hands?”
Nervousness could be heard in his voice. Jin answered, “I don't know but whatever it is, we can't let it hit us.”
Darui said, “He was talking about how Lightning needs to be wild and unpredictable. This is likely a demonstration, however, a very dangerous one. Keep your guard up, everyone. Yugito, be careful!”
Sensing the intense chakra fluctuations, Yugito began preparing her own attack. A massive fireball began forming in front of her. She thought, ‘Whatever his attack is, I'll hit it with my attack and force it to explode high up in the air.’
Fujin looked at the sphere in front of his chest with a smile on his face. Even though the Kumo ninjas couldn't see it, excitement was visible in his eyes. Even though jutsu hadn't been perfected and had several flaws, he couldn't wait to introduce his jutsu to the world!
‘Saisho no Hikari’
Fujin finally launched the Lightning sphere at the Kumo ninjas! The Kumo ninjas immediately became very tense and raised their guards to the maximum! However, their expressions immediately became very peculiar.
Samui thought, ‘That is indeed very unpredictable. What is he scheming?’
Even though the sphere was radiating intense chakra fluctuations, it moved too slowly! It took a couple of seconds to descend merely 3 meters! Yugito decided to take advantage of the slowness of the attack and launched a massive Fireball at the Lightning sphere, aiming to explode it close to Fujin.
However, the expressions on the faces of all Kumo ninjas froze! The Lightning sphere suddenly disappeared from the sky! Their eyes moved in terror as they sensed the same intense fluctuations just a few meters from them. From the corner of their eyes, they saw the dreadful sphere floating just a few inches off the ground a few meters in front of them! At that very instant, the sphere exploded!
An intense light was emitted in every direction from the explosion. Even the ninjas hiding inside the barrier noticed it despite the distance and the forest fire, making them wonder what was happening. While a few of them had colorful imaginations, none of them could imagine the horror their leaders were facing.
The light, which looked harmless from far away, was nothing but Lightning which had been strengthened several times due to the process of infusing it into a Rasengan. The Kumo elites immediately understood that none of them could survive the attack with just their bodies. Except for Yugito, all four flickered without weaving any hand seals to take cover behind Matatabi's chakra.
Unfortunately, even the Body Flicker jutsu was simply too slow in this critical situation. Luckily, Yugito acted solely by her instincts and sent a large portion of Matatabi's chakra to act as a shield for her comrades.
Due to how concentrated it was, the Lightning still pierced through Matatabi's chakra and hit the Kumo elites. Even Yugito wasn't spared. Fortunately, Matatabi's chakra weakened the Lightning considerably.
Darui, C, Samui and Jin were in the middle of Body Flicker when they were hit by the Lightning. They instantly lost control of their jutsus as well as their bodies. They fell to the ground and rolled for several dozen meters due to their momentum. Each of them had varying degrees of injuries on their bodies.
Among the four of them, the one who was the least hurt was C as he had been the first to retreat. His left cheek, chest and abdomen had some burns caused by the Lightning. His internal organs were injured as well due to the Lightning shock.
He bit his tongue and thought, ‘I have to control myself. Who will heal everyone if I can't?’
Through amazing grit and determination, he managed to get up to his knees. Darui and Samui barely managed to do it as well. They didn't dare to lie down when the enemy could close in for a kill at any moment.
On the other hand, Jin was the one who had it the worst among the four of them. His left arm had been completely burnt by the Lightning and so was the lower half of his left leg. His chest and abdomen both were covered in blood. He was the only one who continued lying on the ground as his body uncontrollably spasmed.
Yugito wasn't spared either. Since she went all out to save her comrades, her defenses fell short. The Lightning ripped through her cloak, tearing it down in several places before hitting her body! Despite being weakened considerably, the Lightning ripped through her body and covered her in blood as she fell to her knees and vomited some more blood. Even then, she continued looking at the sky to see what had happened to Fujin. She desperately hoped that her attack got him.

I feel pretty confident he's going to get the 3 Tails, because it becomes free soonish. But, even if Dev had Fujin capture the Mizukage and take out the beast personally, and that guy dies as a result, it wouldn't change anything, because that guy does die anyways and the 3 Tails becomes free.

Meaning “First Light”. I totally forgot about the chapter where we were all thinking about a name for the Lightning nature Rasengan.

I don’t know if Fujin would give Hiruzen the scroll if he did find it, it would lead to a connection between himself and his Akuro persona. Although, he did use the Thunder Armor, so they would be led to believe that Akuro already knows it (or his own variant of it, since he would be older than the LCM). Fujin could then turn the scroll in in return for another Kinjutsu, preferably Edo Tensei.

Im torn between if I want to see Fujin snatch one of the tailed beasts for himself or not. Like right now he could probably snatch Yugito and keep her locked away somewhere until he’s ready to extract Matatabi. But I feel like he might become too OP. But then I think how OP Naruto and Sasuke will be in like 4 years and I’m like, “fuck it we ball.”

Fujin should snatch Jin’s body so he can read his memories and learn kumo fuinjutsu and maybe where the lightning armor jutsu is given Jin’s age and importance as fuinjutsu grandmaster

Holy cow what a chapter! On top of that you completely surprised us. I had given up hope on a chapter today and prayed for a double release tomorrow. I am glad I was wrong since that was a good chapter. Also a new defense for Fujin with Hiruzen on if he is this lighting user. It can't possibly be him due to how strong he is with lightning. How could he possibly be so strong at 16-18??? Just think about it he kills 600+ ninja and then defeats a army led by some of the strongest people they have.
