Chapter 675 : The Greatest Weapon!

The masked man's words confused the Kumo elites yet again. Darui couldn't help but think, ‘Era? Why does he talk as if he has lived through eras? Is there something wrong with his head? Or is something else going on?’
Others wondered the same as well. It caused their movements to falter for a few moments and no one made the first move. The man looked at them and wondered, ‘Ugh, don't tell me I spooked them enough to deter them! I guess this is enough shit-talking for now.’
Needless to say, the masked man was Fujin, who was using his Akuro identity. It was the same identity that he used to kill several Root ninjas, destroy the Root headquarters and kill Raiga and his henchmen.
He had been keeping an eye on Darui's group while his clone marked the path to Kumogakure. When he saw Darui's group heading back to Kumogakure, he decided to stall them until his clone reached Kumogakure. He also decided to take the opportunity to build up some reputation for Akuro so that it wouldn't be too strange when he did more things with that identity in the future.
Thankfully for Fujin, his little act wasn't enough to deter the Kumo ninjas completely. After suppressing their doubts, Darui and the ones with him rushed towards Fujin while the other Kumo ninjas readied themselves to attack. However, his first move made everyone's eyes widen in disbelief!
Seeing how he talked and how fearless he was, Kumo ninjas expected the masked man to be strong. So, they were on guard against lethal Ninjutsu or Genjutsu or even Forbidden jutsus. Grandmaster Jin was keeping an eye out for any seals. However, Fujin's first move contained none of those. Yet, it stunned every single Kumo ninja who witnessed it!
As Darui and company moved towards him, Fujin flung the roasted chicken towards Darui in one smooth motion!
As he raised his sword to block the roasted chicken, Darui couldn't help but mutter, “What in the hell???”
However, immediately after, his eyes widened again and a large amount of lightning flowed through his sword. Others coated their weapons in Lightning chakra as well. The reason for this sudden change was that they detected a strong Lightning chakra within the roasted chicken!
Suddenly, the roasted chicken exploded and its bones, which were strengthened by Lightning, flew towards them at an incredible speed!
Darui quickly used his sword aiming to block 8 pieces of bones while thinking, ‘What a troublesome fellow… This is the first time I've seen such a method of attacking. What the…?’
His eyes widened once again in shock. A couple of lightning-charged bones hit his blade and were destroyed as they couldn't bear such intensity. However, the remaining six suddenly changed direction mid-way.
He quickly moved his sword to block, but the lightning-charged bones didn't head towards him. Instead, they moved at the Kumo army behind him. Others faced a similar situation. The Kumo army in the back didn't expect such an attack when the likes of Darui and Yugito were in front of them.
Several Kumo ninjas fell to the ground lifelessly as the lightning-charged bones pierced through their hearts!
‘Lightning Release: False Darkness jutsu’
Suddenly, C shot out several spears of Lightning. A few moved towards Fujin while the rest moved in the space between them. They targeted the chakra threads that were controlling the lightning-charged bones and cut them off!
He quickly shouted, “Be careful! He can use chakra threads like a Puppet Mas…”
Before he could complete his sentence, his eyes widened as he saw a fist heading straight towards his face. Fujin had effortlessly dodged the Lightning spears and moved towards C at blinding speed. The Kumo elites were still in shock to see more of their comrades die. The sudden move caused most of them to be off guard.
Luckily, as the sensor and the medic, C was standing slightly behind the frontline fighters. As Fujin's fist neared C's face, Yugito immediately reacted and kicked towards his fist. Sensing the chakra concentrated in his fists, Yugito instinctively released some of Matatabi's chakra, covering her leg with her blue chakra.
Fujin quickly changed the direction of his fist and punched her foot instead. The two clashed creating a loud sound and sending a small shockwave. To the shock of the Kumo ninjas, it was Yugito who grunted in pain as she felt a few bones in her foot cracking. She got flung behind by several meters.
Fujin thought, ‘If she had released more of Matatabi's chakra, I'd have backed off. However, that little time barely allowed her to use any chakra. A shame that I can't take advantage of either of their weak positions…’
Fujin's eyes moved to his left as he saw Darui swinging his lightning-enhanced large sword covered down on him. Fujin covered his left hand in Lightning as well and blocked the sword with the metal plate on the back of his glove. The exchange surprised Darui as he didn't expect to be stopped so easily.
However, Jin wasn't surprised. He thought, 'Even his glove is covered with a crazy number of seals. No wonder Darui was stopped so easily. Did he inscribe his clothes himself? If so, he could be a possible suspect behind the trap in the base.'
After blocking Darui's blade, Fujin kicked towards him but Darui blocked the kick. Before Fujin could continue his attack, Samui appeared in front of him and stabbed her tanto towards his heart. At the same time, the remaining two Elite Jounins threw Shurikens at Fujin from the other direction. In addition, Fujin also saw Jin creating a few seals while Darui whipped his other leg towards Fujin's face.
Knowing he couldn't block them all at the same time, Fujin pushed Darui's sword back a bit and flickered, causing all the attacks to miss. He appeared a few meters away and thought, ‘Looks like taking on a rank S ninja, Jinchuriki, Fuinjutsu Grandmaster and 4 Elite Jounins is too much for me. Hehehe, I might end up taking a beating if I stick to just Lightning Release.’
‘Lightning Illusion: Flash Pillar’
Seeing Fujin on the back foot, C discharged electricity through his entire body in the form of an extremely bright light to disorient Fujin's vision. He wanted to use this opportunity to put him under a Genjutsu so that Darui, Samui and the remaining two Elite Jounins, who were rushing towards Fujin, could take advantage of it.
However, Fujin just closed his eyes when he realized C's intention. At the same time, he disrupted his chakra, making it impossible for anyone to influence his chakra flow. C frowned and shouted, “Be careful! He isn't under a Genjutsu and his chakra just spiked considerably!”
Darui and the other 3 raised their guard. To their surprise, they heard Fujin chuckling. He broke out into laughter and said, “Hahaha… Not bad! Not bad at all! It looks like this era has some capable ninjas after all. I should be entertained, at least until I recover all my powers.
Now then, please don't disappoint me and die too early, hahaha…”
Despite not being sensors, the four of them sensed the immense chakra Fujin was building up. Even someone like Darui became tense and wondered, ‘What in the world? What's this chakra? How did it appear so quickly?’
‘Lightning Release: Lightning Flood jutsu’
Fujin pointed his left palm towards the Kumo ninjas and unleashed a massive amount of Lightning towards the Kumo ninjas. Needless to say, that jutsu had been amplified by the Blade of the Thunder Spirit. Fujin had concentrated 2% of his chakra into that jutsu while the blade amplified it by ten times. That is why C felt Fujin's chakra suddenly increasing by around 18%!
Despite facing the devastating jutsu, the Kumogakure elites didn't panic and immediately responded with their own jutsus.
‘Storm Release: Laser Circus jutsu’
‘Lightning Release: False Darkness jutsu’
‘Lightning Release: Lightning Beam jutsu’
‘Lightning Release: Spinning Lightning Shot jutsu’
The four ninjas immediately counterattacked. The four Lightning jutsus clashed with the Lightning Flood, stopping it momentarily. However, they knew that it wouldn't be enough to stop the attack as they couldn't supercharge their jutsus to that extent. After launching their jutsus, all four immediately retreated until they crossed Yugito, who was running towards the Lightning Flood.
Yugito released a large amount of Matatabi's chakra and used it to shield her teammates from the Lightning Flood. Fujin saw as she almost created Matatabi's form with her chakra cloak.
Before it could take the complete form, the Lightning Flood bombarded her, creating several openings in her cloak. Even so, Fujin didn't press on the attack and instead analyzed, ‘What a difficult situation... I get outnumbered when I try close combat. However, in the long or mid-range, Yugito will just block all my attacks. Even with the Blade of the Thunder Spirit, I can't compete with her in terms of chakra. I need to change my tactics… Hmm?’

Fujin has already been present 2 times where Akuro was. I look forward to how in the future, while in Konoha, he will teleport and create an alibi for himself :) “See you later Matabi” - I wonder if Akuro will add more mystery to himself?

I wouldn’t mind him killing Darui and getting black lightning 💁🏽♂️ I think the Killing of Kabuto and removing the Edo Tensei part of the future war gives Fujin quite a bit of leeway in the way he acts and kills.

Fujin is hiding the Sword under his forearm or something to be able to use it without alerting the Kumo Nin of its presence? Seeing as Fujin has so many seals on his clothes, is there a reason why his use of chakra in body is not hidden by the seals? As much fun it is to read Fujin getting stronger, hopefully he aint going full murder-hobo in Kumo. He has already dealt a crippling blow to the village, killed off 1 named character with some importance/screentime, gotten an clue for where the op Raikage justsu are/was and gotten a feel for what to improve for the future. Going full ham and killing needlesly for the sake of killing is fun in the short term, but it will de-rail so much and might lessen the enjoyment from future arcs. Despite his own assurances about the future alliance and the foundational reasons for it's existance. He is grinding away that "glass-half-full" ending for very 'in the moment' advantages (at least from my pov). Like, if he pushes beyond this point it, kinda feels like his actions are unhinged.
