(HPMM)Chapter 52: Repetition
🕑 Added 2025-10-30 14:40:00 +0000 UTCTime flowed ever forward and by my count another three days came and went and my recovery was stead and clear. My eye was certified useless finally as even after all the potions and careful watch there was no improvement.
"I am truly sorry that you have had to experience such a loss due to a moment of carelessness. If you would like I can craft you a prosthetic, much like the one worn by Allister Moody. Free of cost of course." Dumbledore offered kindly as he wanted to give me the news himself.
I shook my head "I will find a way to deal with it on my own. It's not as though I am blind after all." I said calmly.
He sighed "You really are too mature for your age. Should you ever change your mind you know where to find me." he said seriously before leaving.
Beyond that nothing stood out to me as I received no visitors and my days were spent either unconscious or reading the books given to me for my studies. I couldn't really practice my magic and my practice with observation haki ended abruptly with a sudden headache due to that damnable spell Madam Pomphrey used when she felt it.-
I got some practice with armament haki but besides gaining a bit more stability when I deployed it there was little progress there. I didn't dare try and use conquerors haki at all lest Madam Pomphrey get caught in the crossfire. Finally right before my usual dosing time to end the night the world greyed out and a screen appeared with Whitebeard sitting in that chair of his like always.-
"Gurarara, sorry for the wait. Took Marco slightly longer than I thought to get to the sky island and back. You weren't lying about that Enel fellow being arrogant. Marco said the guy didn't even try to dodge. Must not have known about armament haki despite his pretty impressive observation haki." he said with a laugh.
I scoffed "His observation haki is actually terrible. He just cheated and mixed it with his devil fruit so he could spread it much farther is all. Did Marco solve the problems with the locals too or just grab Enel and split?" I asked curiously.
"Solved the war between them if that's what you mean. Some fellow by the name Ganfall helped a lot there. You didn't mention it was the city of gold though or that there was a poneglyph either." he said pointedly.
I shrugged "Why would I? Gold is easy to get for you and you have no interest in the poneglyphs or the information they record. I doubt Roger didn't tell you anyways with your relationship." I said casually.
"Gurarara, One of these days i'm going to have you tell me how you know so much. Still should probably get this done with so you can rest. The sooner you get better the sooner we can trade some interesting stuff from your world." he said with a grin.
"Alright so long as he can technically be considered something belonging to you just focus on giving me the fruit and it should go through." I said and his expression shifted to one of focus before a message from the system popped up.

I accepted the trade and immediately the items appeared in my inventory.
"I didn't ask for the Haki or physique but thanks anyways. Having extras will give me something to sell if the right customer comes along." I said genuinely grateful.
"I figured I may as well give them to you since he won't need them anymore. I'm tossing him into the sea. After that his life and death have nothing to do with me." Whitebeard said dismissively.
"Fair enough I suppose. Without his devil fruit he's not a threat to anyone anyways so I don't care either way." I said not bothered by the idea.
I'm not some innocent child who can't read between the lines of how common murder is in that world even if you rarely actually see someone die. In the whole series I think you see it directly at most a handful of times. Like there's Rogers execution, Ace getting a donut and Whitebeard shortly following were the stand outs. Sometimes it LOOKED like someone was killed only for them to later pop up. Despite this I knew for a fact death was far more common place than we saw. Besides that I was an adult in all but body, I could live with the morality of my choices.-
"You rest up now alright? I should have the first batch of fruits in a week or so. " he said before ending the contact.
Almost immediately after the screen went away and the world returned to normal Madam Pomphrey appeared with the usual. When I woke up again I immediately checked to see if I was alone. Once it was clear I was I opened my inventory and pulled out the goro goro no mi. It was surprisingly small in truth as I could almost fully close my fingers around it. From the shape it looked like it might have originally been some kind of small plum.-
Whatever it was originally it was now a bright yellow with swirl scale patterns that ended with jagged points like lightning bolts. I grimaced as I knew this thing was going to taste absolutely terrible but stuffed the whole thing into my mouth and shuddered as I chewed it up. I honestly can't describe the flavor beyond foul. Horribly, stomach rebukingly foul. It took every last ounce of my willpower and nearby ten minutes of suppressing my bodies vomiting reflex to get past it. It was so bad I would have begged Madam Pomphrey for more potion just to wash the taste out of my mouth.-
I can't say it was in vain however as I lifted my hand and with but a thought an arc of blue electricity shot between my fingers. It was so easy that I was genuinely caught off guard. It was almost like an extra limb that I always had but never noticed until now. I didn't need more than a single intention for the power to work. I'd obviously need to refine it and experiment with it but that was more a time issue than anything.

Too bad there it wasn’t a spell to basically turn off his taste buds lol. Thanks for the entertaining chapter, looking forward to how things develop now. Also really curious on what he’s going to start trading, considering all of the various potions and magical items he might be able to come across.
