Actually German Shepherds, and dogs with similar fur as them are perfectly adjusted to this kind of weather and would be perfectly comfortable in this snow. Brutus age can be a factor though.

Showing my age but I remember the Neo Citran commercials with the st. Bernard.

i love how hugo has done this multiple times before

Waitโฆ who let the dogs out during a snowstorm?

Doesn't have to be snowing if the wind is blowing. I live where the wind is a given and the snow is always in a different place every time you look.

I was literally just in Key West a couple weeks ago. Being from Minnesota/North Dakota I couldn't help but laugh when people there complained about "the COLD weather we're having lately" like bro it's 55 degrees fahrenheit it is NOT "cold" ๐

With Hugo's fur it's like being outside in a down comforter and a wool blanket all in one. Nice and warm on the inside, yet cool and comfortable on his face. โ๏ธ๐ โค๏ธ

Reminds me of my "Goodest Boi!" and absolute "Cheesious Hound-Duffus!". "Johnny" Rico, not a St. Bernard, but a Husky. Damn I miss him, but oh how he loved the snow days and play times! Would not recommend a Husky Pup unless you have a good amount of time to play as they require lots of play and a ton of attention as they are extremely hyper intelligent doggo's and it's quite cruel to them if you aren't putting in at least 4-8 hours a day with challenges and playtime. Having 2-3 siblings with them helps out a lot but make sure you also allocate a good portion of the day for them and they are some of the bestest pups you could ask for! Also allocate space on the bed or lap as once they are tuckered out, they prefer to snuggle up with their favorite "Hooman"!

As a human owned by four northern breed dogs, I endorse this message.

Yeah, those snow dogs are almost obnoxious with their disregard for the cold. I had a Norwegian elkhound and when she was younger and we'd get a decent snow, she'd just shove her face into a drift, then roll into it and make doggie snow angels. When she was near her sunset years, not quite as eagerly bouncy, and I think the cold did start affecting her...but she still loved the snow.

Yep!

Why are they even out there?

Lola is such a cute pup! Love the facial expressions! My brother in law has a chocolate lab that Loves the snow. Likes to slide down hills on her side or back.

Sounds like Lola and Brutus could use an emergency hug...

I like how his jowls are also slightly blowing to the side ๐คฃ

Aren't St. Bernard's bred as rescue dogs?
Sein
I don't think anything could bother Hugo at all.

I love how Lola was talking to us ๐คฃ

Love watching those huskys who don't wanna come into the house when there's snow outside
Heather
LOL reminds me of one of my late cats. She was short haired but loved the snow. Many times I had to physically bring her in the house during snow storms. Miss that crazy fuzz ball. ๐

True didnโt think of that one

Why are the outside in a snow storm???
ShapeCrafter
Nothing quite as surreal as taking a nap in the snow
catbeastaisha
Sounds like our Husky/Malamute. He basically lays on the patio and makes a bed of the snow. We have to bribe him to come in.
T-rex 1973
Can confirm on St Bernards
