April is going to be awesome!

I'm not the biggest fan of this one overall but the comedy really works and I love the subtle emotion of the ending, but it also may just be in retrospect that I don't like this one quite as much, with how great this show becomes the more pedestrian cases of the week just don't feel as special. It's still really solid tv, especially network tv. Don't want to spoil anything or set expectations but IMO the last 5 episodes, particularly the last 3, are on another level as far as this season is concerned, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you think. But also don't want to completely discredit these sort of epiosdes as they lay a lot of the groundwork for both the characters and the world of the show, and you are noticing the subtle complications that have happened over the season. I also think the average POI episode is still far above average network TV, and that was basically true from the midseason finale of season 1 onwards. Really enjoying how you've noticed the way this show has built up a big cast of villains over the course of the season while still managing to keep the threats focused on to our main 2 characters, this show does that better than almost any other show I've seen (and it only improves in this regard over time as well). Also, this and The Wire are my top 2 favourite shows, not sure which order as this one is for me the peak of storytelling with network restrictions while The Wire is the peak of grand unrestricted cable storytelling so I kinda think of them as tied for first. Point is I also really enjoy whenever an actor from The Wire shows up in POI. Bit of a longwinded reply but I always enjoy someone watching through this show for the first time as it's such a satisfying development to revisit.

Watching a doped up Finch is a ton of fun. Until we close out on that "Goodnight, Nathan"... and we're emotionally caught off guard.
