I never considered that the shadow went into the little girl. I just assumed that when Broyles killed the cosmonaut... the shadow was disrupted in the nick of time. And then later, it revived the cosmonaut... as they seemed permanently connected.

Here they go channeling the X-Files again. Which I usually appreciate... except that this one reminds me of one of my least favorite X-Fs S1 episodes, Space. Fringe at least does it better. And at least it's great to have a more Broyles-centric ep, especially now.
