Edit suggestions: On his character sheet, should it show 190m nano since he got the reward for reaching 1000 citizens? Also, the Ambassador thing, why would anyone think the world for the architect? Being Ambassador TO e architect makes it pretty clear he works for humanity and is representing them, like a nation's ambassador to [some place] works for the nation sending them, not the nation they are going to.

Timothy Nugent

I believe I need to clarify after reading multiple comments. These were not messages, they were friend requests. You have to be on someone's contact list before you can send a message to them.

Blackjack

I agree with John. When he deleted the messages, I cringed. Yes, there was an obscene amount, but he didn't even consider that there could be vital info in it. Hell, the president could've messaged him or other heads of states and govt employees from Arizona trying to coordinate rescue efforts. Heavy sigh.

John Doe

If he has the intention to "someday" at least scan the messages for priority information or intel, he can be forgiven for not doing so immediately. If he never intends to ever look (or set up a system for say his "summoned companion" [hint, hint] to access/review/correlate said messages now or in the future), then I stand by my initial assessment regarding his maturity. :-)

SmokeJam

I think he absolutely forgot about them for the moment. Too much other stuff happening and he isn't even at peak condition.

SmokeJam

While you might be right that he should check them for names he might know, you cannot expect him to go through hundreds of thousand of notifications. Calling him immature for not wanting to waste 3 days on reading notifications is actually quite shortsighted, dont you think? Besides, it seems everyone he does care about is already in his faction. The rest would just be hanger-on and people who really want to join his faction are capable of contacting other family members or simply show up, I mean his location is worldwide known and his brother is being very public apparently. And if there are murder threats in there: He is basically immune to any old-world weaponry. There shouldn't be another human being as strong as him right now, only his faction is exposed and he already worries about that. In short: I see absolutely no reason why he should even bother with the notifications and not deal with them as he did, he aint Jesus quite yet.

VioletSummit

That's because, in his mind, everyone sending him messages is just another Oliver 🤣

Undead Writer

I wondered about that too. Not having any directives seems odd. Especially when you have a task from the system to invent time travel.

Undead Writer

Thanks for the chapter! Stupid brother being stupid again. Going to do something stupid and ruin things because he decided to be stupid.

John Doe

It can't be good that he receives thousands of messages and does not read any of them. Yes, many are likely meaningless, but if he reads none of them, how will he ever know if there are important (life threatening) messages somewhere in the pile. It seems immature to me.

Vincent DeLong

What's up with Oliver's character? Is he going to start brewing drugs and get exiled and end up with Ramesh? I may have gotten than name wrong...

Chuck K

I'm kind of surprised he isn't addressing the military captives in the jail before he leaves. Then again he expects to return with a few hours so I can see the logic of dealing with them after.

Silver Beard

Still, his faction is hardly maxed out. I suppose MC's proven he's an expansionist already- no need to reward MC with extra incentive. Then instead of visiting Payson, he should be starting his 2nd Satellite town and scoping out a 3rd. Based on the Interludes- I'd say all his faction towns need to overlap the scenario's nearby before the gov't get's the notion to attempt/block access in exchange for 'favors'

Timothy Nugent

That mostly happens when monsters appear.

Silver Beard

Super weird he doesn't have any directives. Didn't you write that directives go into overdrive once the invasion starts? And for him to suddenly have none is...

Silver Beard

The whole social media thing looks good on paper; but in reality he's creating a management nightmare. Every idiot on the planet facing immenent death will likely turn to MC's way of thinking and accept him as Lord or Baron, etc. without 'other direction'... Now, they could all be infiltrators for the President or Gov't desperately trying to maintain control.

Silver Beard

I keep expecting Oliver to turn on him. It's just in his nature to betray those he 'loves', etc. Really do need a 2nd Alchemist, enchanter, etc. Putting too much trust in the one's he has atm. Wondering about the combat teams that were harassing him before- have any tried to enter to faction? I recall MC mentioning not every police officer was a problem first time around; and what about the troops in jail? Should be going nuts about now.

Uhhh

I feel like no sibling says "bro". I know no one in my family does, so it's a bit weird to me lol. But thanks for the chapter

Josh

I like the chairman, seems pragmatic. Also beginning to ship Oliver and Jennifer, he would have to mature tho, definetly couldn't handle her as he is
