Thank you very much! I do plan to eventually publish on Amazon, but it will be a while. I too hope it's successful!

For what it is worth author, you must be doing something very right. I am or have been on 6 to 7 Patreon pages. Not a single one has such passionate (and positive) investment by the readers in the chapters and characters created. With each release, I am amazed at how many of your readers engage in active debate about the actions and motivations of the characters in your world. Impressive. I don't know if this work is on Amazon or any of the other retail sites. WHEN you post the story on one of those sites, you are gonna' knock it out of the park on worldwide sales. Look out NY Times List authors, there is a new kid on the block. Pour yourself a scotch. You have earned it! :-)

That’s the thing. The team was never going to come back. The MC just doesn’t realize it. He has started a new future. If he clings to the past he will never survive! What about all the top fighters from his past? Why hasn’t he found them and recruited them? Why stop at a team that was middling at best? Go find the best fighters and gather them, train them, and you will have a far better future! MC is blinded by trying to hold his small little world from the apocalypse he knew and is not accepting that it doesn’t exist anymore! I hope killing Rajesh will fix this mentality fault if his.

Timothy Nugent

lol

Undead Writer

I completely agree. Rajesh has been hated since day one for his attitude, blatantly obvious fake switch to their side, and the fact that the MC believes that his team members can do no wrong. Rajesh should have never joined the group. Someone dying because of him is what was obviously going to happen. I’m pissed that it was a young woman the author put character and time into as well. She had a future in the story! I also think Rajesh needs to be killed by the MCs hands to teach the MC a lesson about his “friends” standing in his mind, and to stop the path of destruction Rajesh’s presence causes. But I bet one of two things will happen. Either, Rajesh says that he was doing something he thought was right, and ended up killing her by accident, which makes the MC sympathetic to his friend(dumb) and have to either ban him from the city, or push him somewhere else(which is a weak option). Option two, Rajesh calls the feds on the MC to safe himself, which gets the feds involved(interesting). Or what I bet will happen unfortunately, the MC will still blatantly believe in his friends, keep Rajesh alive and only punish him lightly or slightly hard, thinking that they need every fighter despite the loss of the young woman, not realizing that someone dying is still a big deal before the end, and he doesn’t realize it, alienating everyone and he wonders if he did the right thing(he didn’t). In the end, Rajesh has to die.

NOOOOO!!!! YOU KILLED HER?!?????!!!!!! WHY?!!!!! SHE WAS GOING TO BE A PERFECT MEMBER OF JEFF’S GROUP OR START HER OWN!!!!! YOU HAD SO MUCH CHARACTER IN HER!! RAJESH IS A PIECE OF SHIT!!! HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF WEEKS AGO!! HE’S REPORTING THEM TO THE FEDS!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!! WHY HER!!???!!!!

He might lose some people along the way, but it's important for everyone working with him to recognize that experiencing loss is a natural part of traveling through these portals. They should remember that they’re part of a bigger journey and not everything is within their control.

Timothy Nugent

I meant to say twenty minutes.

Timothy Nugent

Oops, I need to fix that. Thanks!

HN

TFTC! I stumbled over these parts: with judicious use of Alacrity, would be done in a little under half an hour. vs To his surprise, it took him only thirty minutes to retrieve his kills. Unless you meant he didn't even have to use Alacrity? Maybe just clarify that in that case?

Timothy Nugent

Yeah, the next chapter is not going to be fun for Blake to navigate.

Danielle Warvel

Haha. I agree to a degree about the negligence, but I can kinda understand how it came about. He has only so many hours in a day and so much time to prepare for the apocalypse, and his arguments are mostly sound. He’s the most experienced fighter, he doesn’t want all these first titles and achievements to go to waste, nano has been repeatedly emphasized as one of the most important resources that he has to collect a shit ton of both for his own personal safety and to build a settlement strong enough to give everyone else some security. Also, keep in mind that until relatively recently he was constantly on the verge of starvation as well, which drove him to prioritize getting his triple class as soon as possible, all of which doesn’t leave him much time, energy, or mental capacity left over to focus on anything else. I definitely think your correct that he’s in a good enough place now that he needs to start giving more of his time an attention to the leadership aspects of his plan that circumstances had forced him to delegate up to this point.

Thundermike00

It's fine when people come from all sorts of different groups, but this specific group really shook things up—they took almost all of the members from his faction. Now, that faction is in direct conflict with my best friend from the future, and that's a serious issue to grapple with. It's like a game of chess gone wrong!

Timothy Nugent

You are absolutely correct. He has left the running of the faction to his mother and Jessica, and some of that has come back to bite him. I will say, however, he was not choosing the 'fun stuff' to get out of work. He was the only one capable of defeating a level four scenario to get the materials to upgrade the faction hall to level four. Also, no one else could join him as they would be a liability. Also, at this point, the Lupus are strong enough that bullets would either not injure him, or it would take MANY to take them down. But yes, Blake needs to learn to lead. Too much delegation is also bad.

Corwin

That's the problem with a product that likes to reactivate lol

John Doe

Many of his "staff" came to the job with pre-formed cliques. Before I retired, I worked on 4 different Native American reservations (South Dakota, and 3 in Arizona). The politics were also the "highpointe" of my job...NOT! One clique always hated some other clique. :-)

Thundermike00

Being ganged up happens when your members are mostly a united faction that isn't on your side. Hopefully, mc can learn not to have the majority of his faction on the same side, or it may screw things up as they did now

John Doe

Trust me, when they fly, EVERYBODY within a city block get to enjoy the aftereffects whether they are masked up or not. They are often skin contact irritants, too. :-)

Corwin

Lol depends on what side of the gas and spray you are on

John Doe

Tear gas and pepper spray do make dealing with mobs much easier. :-)

1. Wouldn't it be funny if Rajesh was actually innocent of the charges? I'm not saying he isn't an A-Hole, but be careful finding easy culprits to prosecute at the scene of a crime. The obvious bad guy is not always guilty. Heh! Subjective witness statements are always flawed. 2. This development of the story is perfectly timed! The Main Character has been ignoring his leadership responsibilities since day one. He wants to fight/hit things, but he shoves off leading/coordinating/logistics (you know, adult activities...) on anyone else. It is immature and pathetic. He wants the FUN of fighting in the Apocalypse, but he does not want the REAL work of running a community. He is like a teenager who does not want to clean his room or do his homework. This blow up is long overdue and much deserved, because frankly he has been an absent landlord who always has the best of reasons to be anywhere other than the facility he is allegedly running. I hate "managers" who spend their time only doing the tasks that they enjoy while they delegate the crap jobs to everyone else. It is time for Blake to man up! *This completes this rant test. If this had been an actual rant, you would have been directed to the nearest rant shelter. We now return you to our regular programming.* :-)

Danielle Warvel

I mean, execution is probably too extreme, but I don’t necessarily disagree with the general sentiment behind it. Rajesh seems to be so arrogant and selfish that he’s little more than a liability and ticking time bomb of betrayal just waiting to go off. He really needs to having some humble pie shoved down his gullet before he gets anyone else killed, at the very least. I’m curious if a good old fashioned beat down by Blake, or even better, being forced to go through an higher level instance with him to see just how outmatched he his would finally give him enough of a reality check to stop being such an insufferable know it all, or if he’s just too much of a scum bag at this point in his life to be corrected. I kinda suspect it’s the latter and that the only reason that future Rajesh was more cooperative was not because he had actually become a slightly more pleasant person, but because some near death experiences had taught him the hard way that pissing off everyone he met and going it solo wasn’t a viable survival strategy.

John Anastacio

I guess it was just too early to to recreate the team. Not enough years of regular violence, loss and maturing.

Corwin

Damn mobs are no joke or easy to deal with
