I just really, really love this page and am SO pleased with how it came out. Denver and Tomás's apartment is very much based on the first house I lived in with my partner and a bunch of roommates (back when our roomie's tattooist boyfriend worked out of our living room, haha). From the shopping cart that was brought home one day to the randomly acquired street signs and the milk crate TV stand, it was really fun getting to design their apartment using stuff from my own past, keeping in mind the young, twenty-somes Denver and Tomás are!!
Music reference Easter eggs:
Los Crudos poster. Los Crudos was a hardcore punk band from Pilsen (that Denver absolutely would have idolized as a punk growing up in the scene. (The Los Curdos members also had another band, Limp Wrist, a hardcore queer band but that's a topic for another day.) If you have 2 minutes, this is absolutely worth your time:
Hi-STANDARD poster: Super fun punk band from Japan! I feel like this is probably a Tomás pick.
Evil Dead poster: If you want to know what Tomás and Denver do in their apartment, it is watch horror movies while inebriated.
Denver's jacket still has on an Effigies (another Chicago punk band I've written about) patch!
Denver's now in a Dead Kennedys shirt! (He definitely likes DK more than Misfits and Jello more than Danzig.)
