January Newsletter
🕑 Added 2024-01-13 18:20:11 +0000 UTCHello, you lovely patrons! Thank you so much for being here. And a special first time thank you to all my new patrons, too! (Hi Raquel, Ice, and Elana!!!)
This monthly update will probably be on the shorter side. I just wanted to let you all know I'm hard at work on the final 8 pages of the first Keeping Time chapter. I can't believe we're here! I know we're off to a bit of a slow start, story-wise, and Chapter 2 is where things really pick up and we finally get to meet the rest of the band, and I can't wait to start on it.
....But I probably won't jump on Chapter 2 pencils right away, because like I mentioned in a comment on a recent page, I have a lot of scripting and thumbnailing to do!! My editor and I recently had a huge break through with a pivotal plot point that I'd been sort of stuck on for months now, and suddenly my path forward is so much clearer. I'll probably spend a couple of weeks charting out more script and thumbs before coming back to Chapter 2 work!
I'm still eyeing a March/April public launch over at keepingtimecomic.com but I'm getting a little nervous with how quickly those dates are approaching... mayhaps I'll have to push back a public launch, because I really need a nice amount of buffer pages before we go public, and I'm just not sure 30 pages is enough. Particularly because I plan on dropping the first 11 pages all at once at launch! (And if I plan on doing twice-weekly updates, that means I would only have bought myself 10 weeks of time with the rest of those 19 pages.... terrifying!!)
For my dear Espresso shot patrons -- while doing dishes last night, I was struck with a wonderful/terrible idea of a silly comic about sex (probably in the style of manga's yonkoma gag strips), and I have been unable to convince myself not to start it, so. Please look forward to my terrible brand of humor. (There will be butts in it, I promise.)
In personal news, Seattle is experiencing some of the coldest weather it's seen in 13 years, so I am happy to report both of my cats now live on their window ledges above the baseboard heater. They will not move for anything.
Okay, stay warm all! I'll close this newsletter out with a quick, giddy Denver I drew over on Bluesky for a pal who commented, "I'm so gay for this man"
Surely Denver would have a perfectly mild, humble reaction to this sort of compliment. Surely it's not going to go straight to his head and make him insufferable. This can only bode well for the band

Of course, aristocats surely get tired of acknowledging commoners like you and I when we merely give them their well-deserved dues โจ
Christopher Delano
I thought I'd be a Daniel stan first and foremost but Denver looking all ๐ณ

everyone's going to need to stop praising him or he's gonna get that BIG ROCK STAR EGO (no i kid, we both live for the praise) also, the cats have been told!!! I gave them forehead kisses and they were indifferent. ๐

It is SO hard!! I just want to get to all the reveals so everyone can be caught up with me, but that means I have to -- *offended gasp* -- draw it all first?! How dare!! As for the little gag comic... I just finished scripting/thumbnailing the whole thing, LMAO. It is 12 pages of antics and I cannot wait to draw it in between all the other work lmaooooo

It must be so tempting to share your story with the world soon, but at the same time, you have to pace yourself so itโs sustainable for you in the long term ๐ฎโ๐จ Really intrigued by that little nsfw comic you are talking about, not gonna lie ๐ And Denver being so handsome and charming as always ๐ Such a beautiful doodle of him!

Ya know, mild and humble are the two words I most associate with Denver actually! Also pls tell your cats I love them ๐ฅน
