S.I.R. #5 Cover
🕑 Added 2024-09-23 18:08:23 +0000 UTCThis got announced today!! I got to do a variant cover for my friend's incredible title, S.I.R.
What is S.I.R.??
Ringo Award-nominated indie darling cartoonist Fell Hound (Commander Rao) brings an over the top sports and battle anime-coded series that is not one to miss!
Get ready for your new obsession…MOTORCYCLE JOUSTING!
Fate brutally separated Avery Sakai from her girlfriend Nico Xing, but acceptance to the Bridleham Academy might be just the thing to bring them back together. But shockingly, Nico’s extracurriculars are the last thing Avery expected from her.
Now, to win a second chance at love, Avery will need to throw herself into the violent but captivating world of the underground motorcycle jousting fight club known only as SEISMIC IRONCLASH ROULETTE!
If you like unhinged sports anime like Birdie Wing or Sk8 the Infinity, and/or sapphic shoujo romance like Revolutionary Girl Utena, then S.I.R. is absolutely gonna be your new favorite series.
If you feel like preordering my cover from your local comic shop, it's CVR B, and its pre-order code is "OCT240107"! (...If this all sounds like gibberish, then let me point you to this handy guide about how pre-ordering comic issues works, haha!) And here's the PreviewsWorld link!
For fun, I'm also tossing the thumbnails I did for our beloved S.I.R. editor to choose from. I just like making romantic cover compositions that are SECRET HEARTS

Thank yoooou!! I had a lot of fun drawing their faces, especially the long haired girl. She, much like Daniel, is very sad throughout the majority of the series so I leapt at the chance to finally get to draw her happy!!

WOOOOW THIS IS SO COOL AND BEAUTIFUL!! Thanks for adding other iterations, it’s so fun to see the process! I do love the one you chose the best! The pose seems more intimate 💞 Also, did you mention SK8?!! Aaaah I will have to read this (not just for the SK8 ref, obviously!)
