“Talking”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have two options.
Gray stared down at the surface of Monas, which was full of crevices, and looked more like a volcano than a planet. Ravines tens of thousands of feet long formed, splitting across the entire planet, as the surface was starting to look like it had lava in more places than ground. Towers of fire streamed upward, molten rock rolled across the ground, and crater after crater littered the entire area.
Monas looked as if the apocalypse had come.
I can either continue to fight, hope he runs out of energy before I do, and finish him off while he’s too weak to regenerate, or blow him up along with the planet.
Gray still had a couple of tricks up his sleeve, which he hadn’t pulled out because of how much he was enjoying the fight - that mainly being [Seal of Weakening], which would allow him to weaken Boros’ MP and Ki reserves, and overall help Gray kick his ass even harder. But, it also cost Gray MP to use the skill - something that wasn’t as valuable to him as it was to Boros, but that was still a resource he needed for [Attack Boost] and if he wanted [Portal Creation] to try and get overwhelming combos.
It’s all about damage. I’m draining myself with skills, but he only uses MP when he’s regenerating.
Gray used [Observe] on Boros as the alien burst out of the ground, sending rocks and lava flying in every direction as he stared back up at Gray with a large grin.
[Arrogant] Boros:
[Intergalactic Warlord]
Age: 157
PL: 512.02 Trillion
HP: 6,400,000,100/6,400,000,100
TKI: 12,120,110,205/29,122,050,990
TMP: 442,559,123/750,100,210
[Arrogant Modifier] - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally arrogant, believing that they are better than others.
He’s got way more Ki than I do, but he’s much less efficient with it. But that’s not what matters.
Despite not using any MP-focused attacks, Boros’ MP was dropping rapidly - a result of the damage he was taking.
He uses Ki for attacks and magical power for regeneration.
On one hand, it made killing Boros harder, as he wouldn’t drain the MP needed to regenerate on his attacks. But, on the other hand-
I don’t need to wait outlast him in Ki. I just need to do enough damage that he uses all his MP, and then can’t regenerate.
However, as Boros’ MP sat at not quite three-quarters, but still more than half, Gray didn’t think that strategy was feasible.
The planet will be destroyed before that happens. I don’t know if he can breathe in space, but I don’t think I can.
Granted, Gray had never tried, but he didn’t want to either.
I’ll keep fighting him while my squad escapes. Once they’re gone, I’ll blow up Monas. With that, both Orochi and Boros will die, and I’ll use ‘that’ from the shop to get myself and Saitama out of here.
Frieza wanted to keep Monas in good condition to sell it, but as the planet below Gray was only a few more intense blows from being completely exploded, it couldn’t be helped.
I’ll need to prepare some things before we reach Planet Vegeta in case he tries to punish me for this, but it’s the only option.
“Escape?” Celia asked incredulously, flying up next to him after his order, “You want to run away again?”
“No. You guys will run away,” Gray shot back simply, not even looking over at her as Boros’ body tensed far below, “Go back to Harro. I’ll stay with the baldy. We’ll finish the fight.”
“...I thought you had been a bit too intelligent lately,” Celia sighed, glancing over at him sideways, “I’m glad to know you’re still as dumb as usual. You know that this planet is finished, correct? If you’re still here when that happens, you’ll die with it.”
“I’m aware,” Gray countered, just grinning slightly as he glanced over, locking eyes with the woman, “I’m not one to die easily, y’know? Just trust me, and leave. Find whatever ships are still intact, and let me handle this. If there aren’t enough for everyone, then prioritize our squad over the heroes, and send the strongest back to me. I’ll make sure everyone gets off this planet alive.”
It’ll make a dent in my pockets, but I do have a plan.
Gray’s ‘not plan’ that had been decided upon as they came to fight Orochi and Boros was true, as he really hadn’t planned out the fight or a way to beat the two enemies, but that didn’t mean he had no plans. He didn’t intend to die or lose any squad members again, so he had done a lot of scraping through the shop to ensure he was prepared for whatever happened during his fight with Boros.
“...Don’t die,” Celia just sighed, blasting away as she headed to relay the order to the rest of the squad while the surface of Monas was blasted backwards, courtesy of Boros launching into the air at Gray again.
Stall him, and drain that MP as much as I can. What fighting style is good at dealing a shit-ton of damage?
There was only one right answer.
Gray tilted his head, letting the powerful fist blast past his face, and his hair was sent flying wildly from the shockwave that reverberated from the blow. Gray’s muscles bulged unnaturally as he tensed, his Ki flaring outwards as his Kaio-Ken burst into the air again. Then, he vanished.
He reappeared behind Boros as the man was overextended in a mid-punch position, seizing the alien by the back of the head with a snarl, and then launched downward as he ripped the man from the sky. His hand slammed Boros’ face downward like a meteor, the large streak of red Ki trailing behind him making it look not too dissimilar to fire as Gray pounded Boros’ face into the rocky and cratered floor below.
592,209,120 HP! (5,807,790,980/6,400,000,100)
A crater formed in less than a second - then another as Gray didn’t stop, shooting forward as Boros was dragged through the first layer of Monas’ surface, and then through the rocks below.
Is this how Yamoshi felt?
Gray could vividly remember the feeling of Yamoshi doing something similar to him - grabbing him like an invincible monster and dragging him through the crust, mantle, and then core of Planet Sadala. Now, as the heat of the molten core within Monas started to grow hotter, Gray was in control this time.
And I haven’t forgotten his advice. Focus on one emotion - on one feeling. Focus on dominance.
Any thoughts of defense faded from Gray’s mind, his entire focus going into dominating the fight - on beating the shit out Boros as badly as he could, and forcing his regeneration to its limits as the alien’s Ki drained. He pummeled Boros through layers of molten crust, stone exploding outward with every impact as lava dripped around the duo, and Boros’ face was cut and smashed through in bloody gushes of blood with every passing minute - a constant wave of HP notifications filling Gray’s vision as a result.
102,110,220 HP! (5,757,120,000/6,400,000,100)
99,157,880 HP! (5,717,240,888/6,400,000,100)
107,199,920 HP! (5,678,120,370/6,400,000,100)
122,578,250 HP! (5,611,290,290/6,400,000,100)
129,578,000 HP! (5,570,700,750/6,400,000,100)
142,237,590 HP! (5,527,800,210/6,400,000,100)
150,000,277 HP! (5,477,250,800/6,400,000,100)
However, he wasn’t given the mercy of death as his skin reformed, barely having a millisecond to stitch together before the rock below tore through it again.
The Broly-style was feral, destructive, and overwhelming - exactly what Gray needed right now. Gray’s power flung Boros through layer after layer of stone, but it wasn’t like Boros was helpless. Gray’s eyes widened as Boros’ body twisted gruesomely mid-fall, his neck twisting 180 degrees as the rest of his body followed - making him look like an owl. However, he obviously wasn’t an owl, as blood spurted from his sole eye as he made a movement that should’ve killed him, but simply regenerated through it.
The alien lashed out, throwing a wild punch, which caught Gray off guard in his gut.
-411,190,900 HP! (3,509,792,120/6,806,250,100)
Spit flew from Gray’s mouth as their descent to Monas’ core was put on hold, and Boros followed up as he pushed his feet up into Gray’s stomach - his soles pressing into Gray’s gut as he kicked forward and launched him straight upward.
-487,250,000 HP! (3,022,542,120/6,806,250,100)
Gray slammed through layer after layer of stone and magma, just as Boros had done on the way down, as he was flung into the sky of Monas again. He gritted his teeth as he stopped his ascent, flexing his muscles as his Ki shot out to defy gravity.
Crazy bastard. I didn’t know he had a move like that in him.
Gray was genuinely impressed as Boros abused his regeneration, actively harming himself in the process, to get out of the predicament. But, he didn’t have much time to be impressed, as Boros came launching out of the inside of Monas at him with a trail of pink Ki surrounding him.
But one little trick isn’t enough to take me down.
Gray grinned widely again as Boros blasted up at him, his arm cocked back with all the power in his body flooded into it, and launched forward at him with a boom. In response, Gray casually raised his palm - catching the blow in one hand as his muscles flexed from the impact, then twisted Boros' entire arm around in a 180 with a sickening crack.
198,270,197 HP! (5,790,180,270/6,400,000,100)
The alien hissed in pain, only for Gray to slam his head forward, headbutting him square in his nonexistent nose, and sending him rocketing back down towards Monas.
357,188,270 HP! (5,472,992,000/6,400,000,100)
“Regenerate through this, bastard!” Gray bellowed, still grinning wildly as he vanished again in an instant. He reappeared above Boros as the alien stabilized himself, not giving him a moment of reprieve as he slammed a two-handed hammer into his chest and sent him back into the burning planet.
497,274,400 HP! (5,077,800,250/6,400,000,100)
As Boros slammed into the surface again, the ground under him crumbled, and a tidal wave of lava shot upward to consume his body. Lava spattered into the air, catching the edge of Gray’s fur, but he didn’t flinch, nor even pay it any mind. He simply shot downward, bursting through the burning hot liquid without a care as it singed his hair, and lashed out his hand - grabbing Boros by his neck.
Draining his MP might really work.
Gray activated [Seal of Weakening] as his hand clamped on Boros’ throat, crushing it as the alien tried to gasp, but couldn’t even do that.
420,000,270 HP! (4,720,399,150/6,400,000,100)
Gray spun around, swinging Boros’ body as he did, and abruptly chucked Boros upwards by his neck, treating him like a massive football. A burst of power shot outward as he did, flinging the lava around wildly as Boros burst back into the air.
This really is OP.
Gray disappeared with [Instant Transmission] and appeared above Boros, lashing out with another two-handed ki-coated and attack-boosted hammer. It slammed into Boros’ head, shattering his skull and flinging him back into the pit of lava that was Monas’ surface.
715,290,100 HP! (4,125,109,050/6,400,000,100)
He landed with a massive splash, launching waves of lava into the air as he did.
But something feels off.
Gray frowned lightly as he had a moment of peace to think between the intense battle, waiting for Boros to burst out of the pit of lava.
I know Broly’s fighting style is awesome and all, but I wasn’t kicking his ass nearly this hard before. He seems… slow. Sloppy. Tired.
As Gray thought back to Boros’ Ki reserves, which had already been under half despite Gray’s still being pretty full, his eyes widened slightly.
This final form isn’t without consequences.
Gray’s lips twitched up as it clicked. Boros’ Meteoric Burst wasn’t a free transformation - it was like the Kaio-Ken, where it destroyed his body and drained his stamina in the process.
If my [Kaio-Ken] level wasn’t so high, that’s how I’d be right now. I can kill him with the stalling method now, but…
“You gonna finish up anytime soon, Saitama?” Gray called out, his voice reverberating for a couple of thousand feet as Saitama stood far away. Gray blinked rapidly as he locked in on the bald hero.
Why does he look… cool?
The normally egg-headed man with a shiny bald head didn’t look so funny right now, as he stood on a chunk of rock that was floating in a massive pool of lava. His face suddenly seemed well-defined, his head less egg-shaped, and his muscles, which were visible as he was covered only on his crotch, were shining as if someone had lathered them in oil.
“Trust me, I’m trying!” Saitama shouted back, looking serious for once as his face was set in stone, though he was grinning a bit excitedly, “He just keeps coming back!”
Damn. The core theory was wrong. We still need to destroy the planet to kill Orochi - not that there’s much planet left to destroy anyway at this point.
Gray glanced back, reaching out his senses as he tried to track down the energy signatures of his squad - only to not sense any, instead just noticing Tatsumaki’s massive Ki pool far, far overhead in space.
Damn! She moved fuckin’ quick!
Gray smirked, silently being impressed, though he shouldn’t have been.
This is Celia, after all. She probably remembered exactly where we landed and got them into the pods in under a minute.
Now, with his squad gone, Gray had only one thing left to do. As the lava far under him burst open, Boros’ charred form launching upwards as his flesh started to heal, Gray just called down to Saitama again.
“Saitama! When everything explodes, come to me, alright?!” The bald man just glanced back and gave him a firm nod before he was forced to turn his attention back to his opponent. Orochi looked more like a lava monster than a Monster King at this point, and Saitama leaped upwards, dodging a swipe from his massive hand, and then twisted mid-air to dodge Psykos’ lava-serpent heading his way - as there was no Tatsumaki to hold back her fellow esper anymore.
Time to blow this shit up!
“It was a good fight, Boros!” Gray called out, cupping his hands at his side as a ball of black Ki started to form, “But, I didn’t forget about what you did! You’re still dead, motherfucker!”
“Hah, aren’t we all?” Boros smirked as he floated upward, though he was panting, and his regeneration seemed a bit slower as his body reeled from all the blows and his own transformation, “This planet will crumble, along with everyone on it! All the other monsters, and all my men, are already dead - and soon, we’ll join them! I’m just grateful to finally find the one I was searching for! Let’s fight it out until the end!”
Nice sentiment, but-
“I have no intention of dying,” Gray hummed, the Kokuyo in his hands pulsing as it started to grow wider, “But, good luck in hell, bas-”
-10,790,250 HP! (3,011,751,870/6,806,250,100)
Gray’s eyes went wide as he felt a pain on his back - or, more specifically, near his ass. His blood ran cold, and the world seemed to freeze for a second. Slowly, he glanced over his shoulder, not wanting to believe his eyes as he took in the sight behind him.
Floating in the air, with a shit-eating grin on his face, was Garou. His hand was flat as he finished his chopping motion, and Gray’s tail was separated from his back - slowly falling downward into the burning planet as gravity took effect.
Oh, you have got to be fuckin’ kidding me-
As Gray’s Ozaru transformation started to fade, he seriously regretted picking Nightmare Mode.
