“Talking”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two Minutes Earlier
“Saitama! Take the Monster King, and watch out for Garou! Caulifla, Tatsumaki, support him! I don’t need any help!”
On the other side of the battlefield, in a place not far from the world-shattering duel between Gray and Boros, there was another battle taking place. The battle was far less explosive, though the very planet of Monas below Saitama’s feet was certainly being altered.
I’ll just punch him. Though I’ll need to punch him a lot.
As Gray disappeared, then reappeared behind Boros in a movement that even Saitama’s eyes couldn’t track, the bald man just turned his attention to the massive, fleshy form of Boros. He had already exchanged blows with the Monster King once before, while Gray was lying unconscious in the swampy forest that was Monas, and it had been a pretty fruitless effort.
It wasn’t that Saitama didn’t have the power to take down Orochi, but instead that Orochi continued to heal and grow stronger, eventually evolving to the point that even Monas itself was a part of his body. As such, it was no longer as simple as just punching Orochi really hard, as any attacks Saitama landed were just regenerated as the monster pulled from the very planet under his feet.
He was really strong last time. Will I be able to keep up this time?
Saitama would, as his power grew rapidly when matched with an opponent he couldn’t take down easily, even if he didn’t know it. His legs tensed even as they were kicking off the air, and he burst forward, the air curving around him as he launched at Orochi with his arm cocked back.
Orochi’s new body twisted in response, the combination of flesh and terrain moving effortlessly. The ground shot upward in a pillar at Saitama, being flexed as if it were Orochi’s muscles, but Saitama casually stomped his foot downward. The pillar reached him, intent on launching him far into the sky, but instead was cracked and destroyed as Saitama used it as a platform to launch forward even quicker.
Orochi’s face twisted with annoyance, and the terrain writhed violently as a dozen serpent-like tendrils erupted from the ground, snapping toward the bald hero. Saitama zigzagged through them effortlessly, his expression bored but focused, smacking away the monstrous pieces of Monas - which were easily hundreds of feet thick - with casual backhands. A particularly massive tendril surged up like a tidal wave, curving forward towards Saitama, but Saitama punched straight through it with the arm lazing at his side, and the impact created a shockwave that smashed through the other tendrils instantly.
Saitama finally reached Orochi, his fist cocked back in front of the Monster King’s face, and he swung forward. His fist rocketed with the force of a bomb, slamming into Orochi’s face and destroying it instantly. A shockwave reverberated through the rest of the monster's body from the blow, as his torso and legs crumbled, as well as the legs of Psykos above. The entire top half fell downward like a castle with no foundation, landing on the surface of Monas with a massive boom, but they were quickly dragged into the ground as Orochi reformed - looking as if the planet had eaten up the Monster King.
“Is he gone?” Saitama asked blankly as he landed on the ground, staring where Orochi had been as the surface of Monas was strangely still.
Then, the ground split apart beneath him abruptly, and pure-red molten flesh spewed upward, forming a colossal Orochi face with glowing eyes and gnashing teeth. Saitama casually launched into the air as Orochi tried and failed to swallow him whole, the planet-made teeth nipping at his heels as a massive neck shot out behind him.
A second later, another body shot out from nearby the planet-head, being the form of Psykos. The woman’s body was made of dirt, but shifted into a glowing-bright form in a way Saitama didn’t understand, and didn’t care to understand either. Her hands waved, and a massive, island-sized chunk of land shot into the sky - casting a shadow over Saitama from above.
“That might hurt,” Saitama said blankly, cocking his arm back as the massive chunk of dirt and rock was slammed down towards him, but then blinked as it suddenly stopped.
“I’ll hold her back, so just deal with the big one, baldy!” Tatsumaki shouted from her spot nearby, her face twisted in concentration as she was covered in a green glow. She held the flying island in place, though she was slowly losing the battle as it inched downward, unable to match Psykos’ pure telepathic power.
Saitama nodded and was gone in a near-instant, reappearing midair with his fist already swinging. The face chomping towards him exploded like a fruit under a hydraulic press, a shockwave shooting downward as the ground turned into a massive crater, but Orochi was far from dead. More tendrils surged upward again, this time wrapping around Saitama’s arm and leg as the bald man just looked down at them blandly, not even trying to dodge.
Orochi’s body shot upward again quickly, reforming to its originally towering and dragon-head form in only a second, and with a roar, launched a barrage of massive punches at the still Saitama. They burst through the air, four aimed at Saitama as they intended to squish him into a ball of flesh. Saitama didn’t dodge again this time, his expression not turning serious as he casually reached up. He caught the first punch - which was a pretty impressive feat, as the hand was far bigger than his entire body - by simply holding up his palm. He blocked the punch with his palm, then squeezed his hand into a fist and crushed it. Orochi hissed with pain as the impact of Saitama’s casual squeeze shot through his arm, destroying the entire limb.
If he wants to punch, then I can also punch. It’s my whole thing.
Saitama cocked back his arm, casually pulling back the tendril holding him in place as it couldn’t contain his strength. Then, he punched. He punched a lot.
“[Consecutive Normal Punches!]”
Hundreds of strikes blurred across the battlefield, Orochi’s eyes going wide as his three incoming fists were torn into nothingness, then the tendrils holding Saitama in place followed immediately after. The bald man launched forward, kicking off the air as his arms became a blur - tearing through Orochi’s regenerating mass in his torso even faster than it could reform. Massive holes formed as the Monster King started to look like Swiss cheese, and Orochi let out a pained roar, stumbling backward as his massive body fell back onto its back with a rumble - then was pulled into Monas once again, being swallowed up and disappearing as the surface started to look peaceful again aside from the varying craters.
Saitama landed softly in a crater of his own making, brushing dust off his glove with a flick of his wrist. His cape fluttered behind him as a burst of wind slammed into him, courtesy of Gray and Boros, as their fight continued far above. Tatsumaki floated down beside him, visibly straining but keeping herself upright.
“You sure took your time,” She snapped, though she was panting heavily, “Do you know how hard it is to protect you from her? It was taking all of us!”
Saitama blinked, glancing over as he hadn’t even noticed Caulifla, and even Kale now as she came to assist them, panting and covered in bruises. All around them, the massive island that Psykos had summoned was falling down in various chunks of rock, having been destroyed. And, considering the various other city-sized holes in the planet, it seemed that Psykos had tried launching far more attacks at Saitama, but had been stopped by the combined efforts of Gray’s squad - and Genos, who looked calm as he stood far away between a few craters, his hand glowing as the flame-like beam he shot out shimmered down.
Saitama just shrugged as he scratched his cheek. “He’s kinda slippery.”
However, the moment of peace didn’t last long, and Tatsumaki took to the sky again before she could answer. The ground trembled below Saitama’s feet even stronger than before, and suddenly, a hand the size of a city erupted from one of the large craters. It was made of twisted stone and lava, looking like burning rocks and magma as it flung lava out in various directions during its ascent.
Orochi was pulling from deeper in Monas’ insides, bypassing the mantle, and now his new body stretched up from the mantle itself. The sole hand was joined by another soon after, and those hands pushed upwards, guiding a towering, multiple-thousand-foot-tall frame of the new lava monster that was Orochi out from inside Monas.
The Monster King’s new form loomed hundreds of miles high, his chest looking like a collection of magma as lava dripped down from within him. Jagged teeth the size of mountains filled his mouth, and his previously hidden eyes in his helmet-like head were now revealed to be giant burning eyes as they locked onto Saitama.
“…Huh. Bigger than last time,” Saitama muttered, just tilting his head at Orochi.
Abruptly, a meteoric storm of psychic-enhanced debris rained down from the sky as Psykos appeared from the ground nearby again, her eyes shining bright with power as she ripped out boulders from the surface around her. However, Saitama didn’t have to move as her attack was countered by a beam that came from Genos’ robotic body, then a Ki-beam from Caulifla, then even a Ki-beam from Asia. Gray’s squad held out, launching various attacks as Tatsumaki became drenched with sweat, struggling to hold back Psykos so Saitama could face Orochi alone.
“Alright,” Saitama muttered, his eyes hardening as his face became serious for once. He held up his hand, focusing on Orochi even as the world around him started to shake. The ground shook, and his eyes were partially blinded by a massive beam of light in the sky, but then it disappeared as darkness overpowered it - courtesy of a beam-struggle between Gray and Boros.
“He’s doing his part, so I should as well,” Saitama spoke, glancing up as Gray’s face was twisted in focus far above, his Kokuyo pushing back Boros’ attack, “He gets much stronger when he’s a monkey, huh? Then, I’ll get serious.”
Everything about Saitama seemed to change in an instant - his relaxed, calm, and uncaring aura faded around him, replaced by a face set in stone. His head seemed to become less egg-shaped, his cheekbones sharpening as his eyes narrowed, and instead of comical, Saitama started to look intimidating. His arm slowly moved back, cocking behind him as Saitama breathed in.
As he inhaled, the entire world around him seemed to freeze. For a split second, no one moved - the air literally being pulled out from their lungs as even the shaking ground stilled. The air around him shifted, becoming so tense that even Gray’s squad couldn’t move an inch in it. Then, he shot forward, carving a trench in the planetary flesh below his feet, and appeared in the air in front of Orochi’s fiery chest.
“[Killer Move: Serious Series. Serious Punch-
Saitama’s fist launched forward, about to slam into Orochi’s chest and turn the Monster King into nothingness, but he blinked as his target suddenly vanished. Then, a split second later, his mind caught up to his body, and he realized he was no longer floating in the air. Not in the same spot, at least. He was consumed in a pink blast of heat, being flung straight over the disintegrated upper half of Orochi as he tumbled through the air.
Damn. I just got this suit.
As Saitama was flung through the air, eventually falling and slamming into the ground with a boom - which was literally smoking, as Boros’ initial Meteoric Burst attack was burning the floor even from hundreds of feet in the air - as the ground cratered under him. He pushed himself up, blinking as he glanced down at his body.
That… hurt.
His new hero uniform, which King Kai had materialized for him after his original one was torn up, was now disintegrated. The only portion that remained was a small section around his crotch, which had somehow survived the beam that had consumed Saitama’s entire body.
I guess he’s still a man, even if he’s an alien.
Saitama assumed Boros had somehow purposefully avoided aiming for his junk - something that was blatantly not true, but was the only good explanation for why his groin was still covered. But that wasn’t what Saitama was concerned about. Instead, he reached up, feeling a small stream of liquid pouring down the side of his head.
I’m injured.
For the first time in as long as Saitama could remember, his body wasn’t as clear and shiny as his bald head. He was covered in bruises, the skin of his knuckles was a bit torn, and even a small stream of blood was dripping down his face. There was no fatal injury, or even a serious one, but there were injuries nonetheless.
When was the last time I was injured?
If Saitama thought back, it was probably his feet blistering and bleeding from his ‘intense’ training regimen. Since he had lost his hair, he couldn’t remember a single time he had drawn blood.
Slowly, Saitama’s lips twitched upward, forming a genuine, excited grin.
He could injure me, and yet…
As Saitama glanced up into the sky, he could barely make out the blurred form of Gray as the Saiyan not only matched Boros, but even seemed to be winning the fight. He was beating the alien who actually forced Saitama to bleed, which meant-
He’ll give me the fight I’m looking for.
Though they were far from similar, as Boros was a thief while Saitama was a hero, the two were similar in one sense: They both wanted a fight that could make their heart race. In that way, they weren’t so different from the Saiyan battling with Boros at this very moment.
After we’re finished here, I’m going to-
Saitama blinked, his thoughts cutting off as he spun around, raising his hand. As he did, his palm caught a fist aimed for his head, and a familiar face was staring at him from mere inches away. A burst of wind shot outward from the force, causing Saitama to blink again as it assaulted his eyes.
“Garbage?”
“It’s Garou!” Garou huffed, offended that, despite the bald hero being the hardest opponent Garou had ever faced, Saitama didn’t even remember his name.
“Oh, right.” Saitama stared at him blankly, notably not saying his correct name despite his words, “Anyway, what are you doing? You wanna fight again?”
“No. Just seeing how outmatched I am,” Garou grunted, turning his gaze up to the fight between Boros and Gray as he retracted his punch, “I couldn’t even put a scratch on you, but he’s actually made you bleed? He’s that strong, and even then, he’s getting his ass kicked?”
“That’s what I was thinking, can you read minds?” Saitama blinked again as Garou verbalized his earlier thoughts, “He’s crazy tough when he’s a monkey, right?”
“Yeah. That’s just unfair,” Garou grunted, though his lips twitched up, his eyes widening as he seemed to have a sudden thought, “But, what was it they said back on that planet? Something about…”
Garou’s lips twitched even wider, his grin spreading across his entire face as he watched Gray hurl Boros into Monas’ surface again. The fight was out of his league - moving so quickly that the simple martial artist couldn’t even hope to intervene. However, that didn’t mean he couldn’t contribute to the battle.
“A tail?”

Man if Garou is about to do what I think he's about to do then he deserves every bit of the ass whipping that comes his way though I have been wondering something, if Gray is meant to be the Legendary Super Saiyan, and was able to learn how to fight like him, does that mean he can access Broly's Wrathful Form as well?
