Shin

If he developes at his current rate in 4 years when the chuunin exam starts he will be jonin or even elite jonin If he manages to get 2 or 3 affinities to 90 to unlock more kekei genkai nature releases he might even reach low kage level While he wont be able to beat orochimaru he will be able to drive him away If necessary

The chunin arc is quite literally irrelevant. It simply reinforces the hierarchy of the ninja system, adding a dimension to the story’s world-building. Sure, MC might intervene in stopping Sasuke from getting the curse mark, but at this pace, MC would be far too weak to even remotely be anywhere near Orochimaru. What matters is Konoha’s Crush and how the addition of MC will change the plot. Even if he will have high chunin level skills, he would barely be a meaningful and effective ‘tool’ when his own massively underprepared village who is already arguably at its weakest its ever been since its founding is being ambushed by two ready ninja villages aiming for a kill, one of whom belongs to the 5 Major Ninja Village, the other is led by one of the most powerful Kage level individuals.

I really enjoy the pacing of the dungeon run of this chapter. You manage to fully establish that each dungeon is unique, MC is progressing with his abilities, and the story itself is moving forward. I am in favor of MC doing more dungeon runs since it grates me that he’s barely passing the yearly goal of doing exactly one dungeon run (if the system says that he could do more runs for additional rewards, then the implication should be that he could gain more dungeon keys, and the only reason he couldn’t or haven’t done so is due to the gamer’s own incompetence). This is a world that epitomizes the law of the jungle, ‘survival of the fittest’. MC needs to gain more advantages and be hungry for more especially if he’s truly as fearful of his own survival as in the past few chapters you’ve been establishing. I thought the Uchiha Massacre would’ve been a plot point to push him in this direction, but whenever there’s a time skip it feels like he hasn’t done enough. Anyway, I prefer more concise, meaningful dungeon runs rather than multiple chapters dedicated to an exposition of other people’s POV of events that the reader most likely is already aware of. Of course, this is true on the basis that the butterfly effect hasn’t greatly changed the story. The dungeon runs could be used as a plot tool to meaningfully progress the story when the latter doesn’t. What if there are mines with precious materials for crafting? Hidden dangerous ‘BOSS’ rooms with enticing rewards? What if one of the dungeons takes place in an intersection between ‘the game’ and reality where MC gets his summoning contract? Or a place where he can meet a very strong soul who can teach him lost arts? So hopefully there’ll be more exciting dungeon runs!

Actually I really appreciated this choice author! About the chunin arc, won't he practically curbstomp the opposition? By that time Daichi will be really strong. More curious how the rookie 9 would develop considering Sakura and Ino never fell out in particular.
