The Super movies are part of the canon so you should watch them. Although the anime covers them a second time at least the first 2 movies. The pacing is a lot better in the movie versions though. I also recommend Wrath of the dragon, and fusion reborn. I'm curious if you plan to watch all 3 Z Broly Movies.

The new broly movie is decent. The super heros is basically less horny fan service.
