You ever write 15000 words and then realize you have to throw them out?

Writing is a funny thing. Sometimes, you have to write something completely wrong to realize what you should have written instead.
That's what happened to me this month. Tonight, as I was putting the last of my first draft for this month's release together, I realized... well - I completely messed up.
What I've written is alright, but it's not what people are playing this route for. It put the focus on the wrong characters and the wrong stuff.
The Ditzy / Lips route has a very particular focus, and... I lost that focus in the version of the route that I wrote.
I've done this before! I completed the Choice 4 route for Ditzy / Tattoo, edited it as well, and then realized that it was going in the wrong direction, and I had to rewrite it.
So, I have to rewrite this month's update from scratch. That's gonna take me about an additional week (my time management this month has also been terrible), so the new release date for the next update is December 8th.
I don't feel great about having two delays in a row, but considering this route is the most popular, I don't want to release something I'm not entirely happy with. I've written the outline for the revised version, and it is MUCH better than what I have now.
TLDR: The update is delayed to next week.

Ah! I think things we have to rewrite do tend to end up better then the original, but it's a big punch to the motivation when you lose work, or realize you've gone down the wrong rabbit-hole and need to toss a lot of it out. I'm glad your game turned out better!

I've written my own small, lewd transformation game and managed to accidentally delete my first few days of work, which was a lot of writing. Game still needs a strong editing pass. The game was the better for it, though. I had to rewrite and recode the stuff, but so many mistakes and other issues were corrected by that loss and rewrite that I can't feel bad about the lost work. It still made my writing and the game better even though it was lost and never used.
