I don't know what exactly it is, but something about your style is just great. Yes, on a technical level you're art isn't (yet) among the best on this site. But you've got a way with your characters that's just... something xD I think it's the way you convey that casualness, while your characters still acknowledge what's happening, WITHOUT caption. "Oh... I got completely wrecked... *giggle*" Take the money and carry on :D
