Past the rounded stone center was a stone bridge, modest yet sturdy, with intricately carved pillars that held ancient torches. The flames of the torches flickered hypnotically, casting long shadows that seemed to dance to an inaudible, ancient melody. Taking a calculated step onto the bridge, Lara raised her glow stick, which illuminated the bridge in a surreal blue glow. The light revealed ancient script and glyphs she was yet to decipher.
“Weavers of fate draw near, the portal stands clear,” she muttered, jotting it down in her journal.
