Eleanor has a phobia of unclosed spaces and now eager to affix the closet door but anticipating the monster peers from its shadows. The thought of the tickle monster so close sent her heart racing. She'd heard his whispers in the night, felt his feathery touches, but she'd never seen him before. Her hand hovered over the switch of her bedside lamp, trembling with indecision. If she turned it on, she'd be able to see him, but she wasn't sure she wanted to. The fear of the unknown was a powerful deterrent. With a steely resolve, she slid out of bed, her bare feet whispering against the cold floor. She took one cautious step, then another, her eyes locked on the closet door.
