Yes, this whole arc is to show that Amity is a very competent fighter. Against the demon student, she literally just stood there and took the punishment.

Yknow I thought she tried fighting that demon but a type she couldn't win type situation for the attention she desperately wanted from the family, but the fact she could destroy her like that so effortlessly makes that previous moment even sadder ;-;
