music stuff
a few weeks ago, I decided to give my music toolkit some refreshment. it's something I do every couple of years so that I'm not always working with the exact same plugins, techniques, and so on. in doing so I kinda stumbled into a little groundswell of momentum and ideas, and I think now I have too many songs.
I think I previously mentioned wanting to do a little EP of 5 or so tracks of ambient stuff, and now I can say I've solidly committed to the idea. I'm calling it "all this time I had no idea". here's the cover art:
I also already have 6 tracks lined up for Volume 3 later this year (obviously there'll be more). like I said, I have too many songs right now lmao.
half-life video
yep, still making decent progress. I don't think I want to show anything until the first cut is done, but I think redefining the scope of it really made the script a lot easier. since there's been 20+ years of talk about the game, I don't waste a bunch of time saying things everybody already knows about it; but I also have to contextualize things to a degree so that I'm not just talking exclusively to Half-Life omega nerds. I originally wanted to make everything discussed in the video *explicitly* within the confines of what happens in the game, but I couldn't find a good way to do that without sounding like an asshole (more of an asshole than usual, anyway).
