COLOR TIPS
🕑 Added 2020-12-19 20:17:47 +0000 UTCHey friends! I got some great questions from a friend and patron recently that made me think of this old tip/tutorial thing I wrote up last year. I'm sharing it here because of the bits on color relativity!
Reading through this makes me want to do a newer, more thorough approach to what bits of color theory I frequently use/think about in my work now in December 2020, so I'll try to work on that over the next few weeks. For now, here's the very awkward write-up I did back in Feb 2019, ahaha!

That's not invasive at all, thank you for asking!! I just posted a short lil video that shows the order my light layers are in! ^^ Thank you for asking!! You also might find this older video a little helpful: it goes a bit more in depth into how I do the final environment glow effect I put in all of my paintings! https://www.patreon.com/posts/video-reward-how-35022259

Love this! Hope this isnβt an invasive question, but how do you usually set up your layers for lighting?

Woaaaaahh this is blowing my mind!! Light source meeting points, skin tones, complimentary colors (just started playing with those and SUPER enjoy it!!), along with the amazing questions of content, emotion, placement, lighting, do they interact with it, sun light style, plotting out light first, putting that in the draft to see if itβs going where desired, and more-this is amazing!! Thank you so much Kira! Now Iβm really excited to take on the piece I hope to finish today! :DD Also looove all the work featured here- the feels in your Jason Todd piece still get me πβ¨ππΎ
