<<Previous (4.1.2.2.2) / Outline
The walk home was longer than Tim expected. He only got lost on one street before he figured out where he was. Then, he found a good shortcut to take him home. Still, being in the body of an 8 year old had some drawbacks when it came to physical activity. He was considerably smaller and weaker with shorter legs, which meant that he had to take more steps than usual. It also meant that his backpack was proportionally heavier than usual.
By the time he unlocked the front door of the house, he was winded and barely had enough strength left to swing the weighty door open and shut before dropping his bag in the hall and collapsing onto a couch in the living room. He lay there, and kicked off his shoes, one after the other, getting comfortable.
“What now?” Tim asked himself, wondering about Faith and school. The day had been so exhausting and overwhelming. Did he really want to go back to all of that tomorrow?
Maybe he needed another change.
“Well,” he said, thinking it through. “I made myself half my regular age already. That had… interesting results. Maybe I could try that again.”
He pulled out his phone, and took a moment to appreciate how large it felt in his small hands. How much larger would it feel in even smaller hands?
He opened the app and opened the picture he took of himself and the rest of his class, all of them looking 8 years old now. He selected himself as the subject and checked his caption:
Tim Smith is an 8-year-old boy. He is a high school student in a special accelerated program, and he attends classes with other students twice his age. He enjoys privately indulging in a transformation fetish. (Show more.)
Tim thought it over and changed his age to 4. Then, he replaced “high school” with “primary school.” He reasoned it would be nice to be even younger, but having to deal with the stress of high school while being that small might be too challenging. Still, he would rather not be stuck anywhere as immature as pre-school. After checking that he had typed in everything correctly, he saved the change and the progress bar began to fill.
Tim felt his body start shrinking. His already short limbs lost even more length as his hands and feet became stubbier. The already small clothes he wore became baggy and loose on him. The room appeared to grow larger around him, the couch feeling more like a bed as his body fit more comfortably on it. That sense of comfort only grew as he shrank. Something about being small in a big world made him feel more at ease, as if the increasing relative size of everything around him was a bonus, providing him with an extra amount of whatever he wanted. Then, when the bar had mostly filled and he had become something between a baby and a child, he felt the shrinking cease. His clothes shrank to fit him snugly. Finally, a whine from his phone grew until a burst of light erupted from it, completing the alterations to reality.
Tim lay there a minute, just feeling small and so very young. He could count his years on one hand now. He held up his hand and gazed in fascination at his pudgy palm and stubby fingers, flexing them, testing how soft and fresh his little digits felt. He sat up on the couch and let his little feet dangle from the edge.
Looking around the seemingly huge living room, he had the impression that he had wandered into a giant’s house. The world he knew, which had seemed so ordinary and dull, now appeared unfamiliar and exciting due only to observing it from a younger perspective. He wanted to explore. He wanted to find out what life was like for a 4-year-old. He had only the haziest of memories of being this age before. No doubt, the novelty of being this age had piqued his curiosity, but he was unsure how long that would last before he grew tired of being so young.
Tim let himself slip from the edge of the couch cushion and drop to his feet. He stood there appreciating how tall the couch was and how high the coffee table was.
An idea came to him, and he decided to act on it immediately.
What does he do now?
Oh no, his phone is gone! (4.1.2.1)
He goes to his bedroom to play with toys.
He draws a bath for himself.
He gets himself some ice cream.
