Jax woke to the sound of birds chirping. He squinted a look outside to see sparrows chirping in a tree just in reach of his open window. This was odd for a couple of reasons. For one thing, why was the window open? Also, where did that tree come from? It was not there last night.
He rubbed his eyes and sat up to get a better look at his surroundings. The room appeared a lot more rustic now, as if he were living in a cabin instead of an ordinary suburban house. There was bare wood everywhere. Very little metal or plastic was visible. Even his diaper had been replaced by a natural cloth one.
His mother appeared in the room, looking very much like she had done the day before, only a little less clean. He could see dirt on her feet and a leaf or two stuck in her tangled hair.
“Good morning!” she said, cheerfully. “How’s my little man feeling?”
“Good,” he said.
She lowered Jax’s crib wall, letting him out, and led him downstairs. The rest of the house was just as rustic-looking as his bedroom. There were no closed windows anywhere and even a bird or two flying through the hallways. On the ground floor, he found that the floor had become much more ground-like. Aside from a few wooden places, the floor was simple dirt now.
They walked into the kitchen to find Jax’s father squatting next to a wood-burning stove, taking a dump on the floor.
“‘Morning, son,” he said, pinching it off. Then, he stood up from it without wiping or rinsing himself off at all.
Jax expected to smell it, but there was no real odor to his father’s waste, just a slightly more earthy aroma than the rest of the house. His father walked over to his mother to give her a kiss.
“Oh,” she said. “Someone looks a little excited.”
Jax noticed his father’s growing erection.
“Have you had breakfast yet?” his father asked his mother.
She shook her head with a smirk and got on her knees. Then, she wrapped her lips around his cock and started fellating him right there in the middle of the kitchen.
Jax took a seat at the table and tried to ignore what his parents were doing.
“Oh, Jax,” his father said as his mother kept sucking him off. “I’ve got the day off, and the fair has just been set up in town. I thought we might go together, just a father-and-son day. What do you think about that?”
Before Jax could respond, his father made a weird face as his body stiffened and relaxed. He slumped into a chair and his wife stood up, wiping her lips and swallowing again. “That sounds fun,” she said. “Doesn’t it, Jax?”
“Yeah,” Jax said. “Fun, right.”
“Great,” she said. “Now, let’s take that diaper off of you and get the morning started.”
Jax stood up and watched happily as she unclothed him. Then, he took a moment to enjoy the breeze blowing past his bare crotch and butt. He smiled.
“We did it,” he said.
***
The walk through town that morning was very peaceful. There was not a car in sight, only an occasional horse-drawn cart on the dirt roads, no asphalt or concrete anywhere. All the other houses in town had been converted into more bucolic wooden dwellings, and everywhere the space allowed, tall trees grew green and leafy. It was a paradise.
They saw other nude families heading in the same direction. Some of them paused to take a dump in the bushes, as did Jax a little closer to the park.
Inside the park, the rides were active, music was playing, and people were laughing and screaming in excitement. Things seemed a little more primitive there as well, the rides appearing to be like something from half a century ago, nothing particularly new or high-tech.
His father held Jax’s hand and said, “Where do you want to go, first?”
Jax looked around and said, “Let’s play some carnival games.”
They walked down an aisle of different games, but Jax did not see the usual ball toss and shooting games he expected to find. Instead, the first one they stopped at was a literal “Dick Measuring Contest.”
Jax, his father, and several other men were given towels to wear around their waists and were led out onto a stage. Then, they stood there while a small crowd placed bets on who would be revealed to have the largest dick. When the order came to drop their towels, Jax let his fall and looked around at the other men beside him. Despite being disappointed at not winning, Jax was glad to find that his father was the largest of them all. A carnival worker pulled out a ruler and measured Jax’s father. “Eight inches!” the worker declared. The crowd applauded, and Jax’s father won a cock ring as a prize.
Jax smiled, proud of his dad and amused by how weird it all was.
The cock games did not end there, though. Next was a “Pissing Contest.” Just like a water gun game, they had to piss on a target to inflate a balloon. First, they needed to take a break to drink some water to prepare. Once they felt their bladders were sufficiently full, they lined up and started pissing. Jax’s father might have had a size advantage, but Jax managed to aim a bit better, making him the winner. He picked out a teddy bear as a prize.
Mud wrestling was next. Jax and his father joined a small tournament, each of them being paired up with another man in the first round. They each stepped out into the muddy ring and started grappling together, slipping and sliding around as they became covered in sticky mud. At some point, Jax was sure that he let loose a bowel movement as he exerted himself, but no one noticed or cared, his crap mixing into the mud. Both Jax and his father managed to win all the way up to the final round, when they were pitted against each other. The two of them laughed and rolled around in the mud together, grabbing each other’s slippery body with their muddy hands. Neither of them tried to win immediately, wanting to draw out the experience a little longer. Eventually, Jax’s father gave in and let Jax get the upper hand, pinning his father in the mud. The crowd cheered as Jax’s father lifted his son’s hand in the air triumphantly.
It was a fantastic day. The two of them got some fruit to eat as they walked through the park, letting the mud dry and crumble from their bodies as they went. Later, as it started to get dark, Jax began to yawn. His father lifted Jax up in his arms and carried him home. Jax hugged his teddy bear to his dirty chest as he enjoyed being cradled in his father’s powerful arms. Eventually, he drifted off to sleep and only woke up for a minute when he was set down in his crib to sleep.
“Don’t leave, Dada,” Jax said, before his father left the room.
“I’ll be here in the morning,” his father said, patting Jax’s forehead.
“No,” Jax said. “Don’t leave for work. Stay with us. I want my Dada.”
His father sighed and said, “I want to stay too, but I need to find a new job, first.”
“Pwease stay,” Jax said, a tear dripping from his eye.
“It’s okay,” his father said. “I’ll go looking for a new job tomorrow.”
“Pwomise?” Jax asked.
“Promise,” his father assured him.
Jax smiled and wiped his eyes dry. Then, he drifted off into pleasant dreams.
***
“Jax!” called someone from his window.
Jax opened his eyes and looked outside, seeing the dim light of dawn out there.
“Jax?” the voice said again.
Jax squinted and saw Andi sitting in the tree outside.
“We need to talk,” Andi said. “Now.” She climbed through the open window into his bedroom.
“What’s wrong?” Jax asked.
“It’s my machine,” she said. “It’s not really compatible with the world as it is now.”
“What does that mean?” Jax said as he sat up.
“It means it might disappear soon if we don’t do something to adjust the world again.”
“Oh,” Jax said, sadly recognizing that he might be losing the peaceful world he had enjoyed the day before. “Do we have to?”
“We need to do something,” she said. “Or else, we won’t be able to change anything again with it.”
Jax recognized the problem, but he was not sure if he wanted to solve it.
“What should we do?” Jax asked Andi.
“Let’s go back to my lab,” she replied. “It’ll be a bit of a trip now that vehicles are more simplified, but we can make it there by the end of the day if we leave now.”
Jax nodded and let her release him from his crib.
Standing beside her now, Jax had a worrying thought. “My parents!” he said. “They won’t want you taking me away somewhere. They still see me as their baby.”
“Should we sneak out the window?” she suggested and gestured toward the tree outside.
Jax nodded, and she climbed out first and started to descend the tree.
“Jax?” his mother called to him. “Are you awake already?”
Hearing her approaching down the hallway, Andi ducked out of sight and Jax climbed back into his crib.
“Good morning,” his mother said as she opened the door and entered the room.
“I opened my crib!” Jax declared, proudly. “I’m getting to be a big boy.”
His mother looked at him uncertainly, apparently not sure if she should be encouraging this kind of independence at his age. “I see,” she said at last. “Well, let’s just try to be careful. We don’t want you putting yourself in any danger. Okay?”
“Okay,” he said, while quietly planning an escape.
***
Downstairs a little while later, Jax’s father fed her. Then, she fed Jax. Despite seeing the whole routine before, Jax was still stunned by all the casual trading of body fluids. However, he felt comforted to have a belly full of milk. As he licked his lips clean, he wondered what had become of Andi. He suspected she was hanging out somewhere nearby, probably waiting for him to break out of his house.
“What do you have planned today, dear?” his father asked.
“Grocery shopping,” she said. “Also, Jax might be ready for a new bed. I caught him breaking free of his crib this morning.”
“Really?” his father said. “My boy is getting to be so grown up.”
“Yes,” his mother said, “but let’s not be trying to grow up too quickly. You still have years to go before you leave behind being a baby.”
Jax nodded, hoping that would still be true when he and Andi were done making changes today. First, though, he needed to figure out how to get away from her on his own.
There was a knock at the door, and Jax’s father went to answer it.
Andi was there, waiting, with her hands behind her back.
“Good morning,” she said with a chipper attitude. “I was just in the neighborhood and on a long walk. I thought I might stop in to visit my favorite babysitting pal while I took a little break. Could I please come in for a few minutes?”
“Sure,” Jax’s father said and stepped aside to let her in. “Honey,” he called to his wife. “It’s Andi, stopping in for a rest on her walk.”
“Good morning,” Jax’s mother said. “Come on into the kitchen. We were just finishing feeding. Would you like some milk or semen? I think we could both squeeze a little more out for you if you need a snack.”
Jax saw the barely concealed disgust on Andi’s face, but she quickly recovered, smiling and saying, “That’s all right. A little water is all I need.”
Andi took a seat at the table across from Jax and gave him a smirk and a wink. Then, she thanked Jax’s mother for the glass of water and took a sip.
“So,” his father asked. “What’s that you have in your bag, Andi?”
She smiled at him and said, “It’s the newest thing, a wind-up entertainment device.” She pulled out something that looked like a gear and spring driven portable TV screen.
“You see,” she said. “All you need to do is wind up the knob on the top, and it will play some music along with a puppet show on the screen. It’s very fun.”
Jax’s parents prodded the box, like a pair of cavemen trying to make sense of a wind-up clock.
“You can give it a try,” Andi suggested. “Oh wait,” she said, sounding as though she had just remembered something. “I left behind something in Jax’s room the last time I babysat. Jax, would you take me up there to get it?”
Like his parents, Jax was curious about the box, but he saw the insistent look on her face and decided to get up and leave the room with her.
“What’s going on?” he whispered when they made it to the stairs.
“Watch them,” she whispered back, pointing at his parents.
As soon as Jax’s father finished winding up the box, it began playing a familiar tune. Jax recognized it as the music from the cartoon program that had made him act like a toddler before. His parents reacted in a similar fashion to how he had done, their faces growing blank, their eyes looking spaced out.
“There,” Andi said. “That ought to keep them busy for a while.”
“Are they alright?” Jax asked.
“Once the box winds down, they’ll be acting like toddlers for another hour or two, but they should be back to normal later on. By that time, we’ll be long gone. The next time we see them, we’ll have made enough changes to reality that this event will have been erased. So, don’t worry too much about it.”
“Are they going to be okay by themselves?”
“Sure,” Andi said. “I mean, you were okay with your friend when I left you alone before, right?”
Jax remembered what activities he had gotten up to with his friend and realized that his parents might be in for some interesting playtime today.
“Let’s go,” Andi said, “before it’s done playing.”
Andi and Jax left the house together, and he only glanced back once to wonder if he would rather be spending the day as they were or with Andi.
***
After a long walk across town, they made it to the train station just as a steam locomotive pulled in. Andi bought them tickets, explaining that she was Jax’s mother and that they were visiting her husband at the university. Jax did not understand why she had made up that particular story, but he went along with it.
Once they had boarded the train, in the private cabin she had paid for, Jax waited until the train started moving to ask her about it.
“Why that story?” she replied. “Well, I think it ties in with just about everything else that’s backwards about this reality.”
Jax listened intently, but he was distracted by a slight bit of discomfort in his crotch.
“As you might have figured out, technology has regressed a bit. As far as I could gather from a brief trip to the library, there is still electricity, but it is not widely used, and computing has only just reached the level of integrated circuits. Basically, we’ve gone back about 50 years as far as technology is concerned. When it comes to social changes, we’ve gone back even further.”
That discomfort Jax was feeling had increased into a tender, dull pain. “What do you mean?” he asked, squirming slightly to get more comfortable.
“It’s the reason why I made up the story about visiting a husband. The idea of a woman getting a university degree is a little unusual now. Feminism and gender equality are still a ways off, it seems.”
Jax had begun to wince now at the pain he was feeling in his crotch. Something about the sensation of it was making his head feel foggy as it had done when he had mentally regressed into a toddler.
“So,” Andi continued. “My machine is no longer compatible with this reality. I could never have been allowed to build it here, and the technology to create it no longer exists. Fortunately, I had a failsafe in place to prevent the machine from uncreating itself, but it’s a temporary fix. The machine has surrounded itself in a mini bubble universe that is still hospitable to its existence. However, it can only keep this bubble going for another day or so using its reserve power. We need to make this universe fit for it, or the bubble will pop with the machine inside. Then, we’ll be stuck here like this.”
Jax whimpered at the pain. “Mama,” he whined. “It huwrts.”
Andi was surprised by his shift in tone. “What are you talking about?”
“My pee pee,” Jax explained, cupping his crotch in his hands. “It’s awl sowr.”
Andi sighed. “Well,” she said. “There’s a restroom at the end of the car. You can go… deal with that in there.”
Jax shook his head and said, “No. I need hewp. Pwease hewp me, Mommy. Hewp me cum.”
Andi sighed, again, even more deeply. “Well, I was feeling a little hungry. I suppose I’d rather have you than some stranger.”
Jax watched as she got down on her knees between his legs and leaned toward him. He moved his hands away.
Andi hesitated a moment before she put her mouth around his cock. “This is just to take care of our needs in this reality. That’s all,” she said, making it clear what her intentions were.
Jax did not care, could not think clearly enough to even understand the distinction she was making. He just needed his dick sucked, badly.
Andi wrapped her lips around him, and he sighed in relief as the sensation of her oral stimulation.
“Yes,” he said, “Jax, likey. Suck me, Mommy.”
It did not take him long to finish. Feeling all that pain release, along with the accompanying pleasure was almost enough to make him pass out. He slumped back onto the seat and let out a huge, contented sigh. Meanwhile, below, Andi hungrily sucked him dry, swallowing down every drop he had produced.
She sat back on her heels and licked her lips, making sure she had left no trace of him on her face. “I hate that,” she said, taking a seat across from him. “I hate that I almost enjoyed it… the taste…” She shook her head. “Forget about it, that’s the last time I’m ever doing that.”
Jax’s head began to clear a minute later, and he felt a mixture of contentment and embarrassment at what had just transpired. Contentment because of how much he had enjoyed it, but embarrassment due to how much he felt her judging him.
The rest of the train ride went by in awkward silence.
***
At the university, Andi led Jax back to the building where this had all begun. She talked her way in, saying that she was a research assistant to one of the male professors who still worked there in this reality.
Once in the building, it only took a short walk before they encountered a strange shimmering, transparent wall of blue light. Beyond the light, the hallway appeared brighter, with electric lights still on, contrasting with the gas lamps lighting the rest of the building.
“Hold my hand,” Andi said, offering it to him. “The bubble won’t let you in unless you’re close to me.”
Jax took her hand and stepped through the wall of light with her. The building felt much cooler on the other side, which he recognized as the effect of air conditioning. Even before entering the lab, they could hear the steady whirr of machinery in motion.
She walked him into the lab and let his hand go, before taking a seat at her terminal and starting typing on a keyboard.
“I’m going to have to reverse the changes regarding diapers,” Andi warned him. “That seemed to have set off the whole technology regression. The green world you made no longer needed the tech I use. If I undo that and sort out the issues with the role of women in society, then we might be able to make this work.”
“B-but,” Jax stammered. “B-but I don’t wanna wear diapers!” He could feel his mind regressing again. “You havta keep it wike dat.”
She sighed. “I explained to you why I can’t. The machine will disappear if we don’t fix this.”
Jax felt desperation taking over. He grabbed her chair and pulled her back from the terminal.
“Hey!” she cried. “What are you doing?”
He stepped between her and the keyboard. “I’m not wetting you put me in diapahs evah again.”
Andi looked at him sadly for a long while and let out a deep sigh. “This is what you want?” she asked. “This is the world you want to remain in?”
Jax nodded. “I wuv it. Pwease, wet me stay, Andi.”
She nodded back. “Very well, then. You can stay.”
“Weally?”
“Yes,” she said. “Just let me reach the keyboard to fix one thing. Then, it’ll all be just how you want it to be. Okay?”
“You pwomise?” he asked.
“I promise.”
He stepped aside, and she rolled back to the keyboard to finish entering her programming into the machine. “There,” she said. “One more key press, and it’s over.”
“Fank you,” Jax said, with genuine gratitude. “It’s a dweam come twue.”
She smiled at him. “Sweet dreams,” she said, pressing the button. “And, goodbye.”
The steady hum of the machine rose in intensity. Again, the room rumbled, and Jax’s vision blurred from the vibrations. He lost track of where he was and what was happening. Then, he lost consciousness altogether.
***
Jax woke up in his crib the next morning. His mother came to greet him and take him down to be fed as she had done the day before. Nothing appeared to have changed since his trip with Andi to the machine.
“Mommy?” Jax asked. “Is Andi coming to babysit me again sometime?”
“Andi?” his mother asked. “Who’s that? Is she your imaginary friend?”
Jax tried to explain who she was, but his mother just brushed off his statements as a sign of how imaginative he was becoming.
After some thought, Jax came to the realization that Andi no longer existed in this reality. In fact, it seemed that she had changed the world so that she never had existed at all. Jax wondered what had become of her. He decided that she must have returned to some other reality that was more appropriate for her and her machine, leaving him behind here, where he wished to remain.
As sad as he was to lose Andi, he felt gratitude that she had given him this fantastic new life. He wondered for a moment if he would ever regret it, but when it came time for him to be fellated, he let those concerns go and enjoyed life as it was.
The End
