Tom returned from the bathroom to find Janice finishing his French fries.
“Sorry,” she said, wiping the salt and oil from her fingers with a napkin. “I thought one of us should eat the fries before they got cold. The licorice is all yours.”
The black strip of bitter candy that Celia had made for him was lying there on a napkin, waiting for him to eat it.
The peppermint had made him younger. The chocolate and cherry treat had turned him into a girl. What awful thing would the licorice do to him now?
“Get rid of it, please,” Tom begged her. “Shove it down the drain. Throw it out the window. Anything.”
Janice looked at the licorice strip and then back at him. “Really?” she said. “Then, we’d never know what it does. Aren’t you curious?”
“Yes,” he admitted, taking a step closer to the candy. “But, I’d rather not change again. It’s bad enough being a girl. This…”
“Hold on,” Janice said. “What’s so bad about being a girl?”
Tom was surprised by her offended tone of voice. “I mean, it’s bad for me to be a girl. I’m not supposed to be one. It feels… wrong.”
“Hmm,” Janice said, crossing her arms. “Maybe that’s part of what went wrong with us. You never really respected me as a woman… or women in general.”
“No,” Tom said. “That’s not…”
“You don’t see us as people,” Janice continued, excited to have figured something out at last. “To you, we’re just… women. That’s why you’re so boring. You’re just hung up on always behaving like a typical man. You have no interest in seeing things from a female perspective.”
“Janice,” he said, taking a seat next to her. “Can’t we talk about this later? I need your help. I need you to stop me from eating this candy.”
Janice shook her head. “No, actually, I think I agree with this Celia girl. You deserve a little more perspective. Go on. Eat the candy.”
Tom sighed as he watched his girlish hand reach for the licorice strip. He tried to resist, but his arm was moving on its own. His girl body picked up the candy and placed it in his mouth.
The bitter flavor burned like fire on his tongue, dripping down his throat and spreading warmth outwards through his body. That energy filled him until it felt as though it might burst out of him. Instead, his body began to grow to contain it.
More than just getting larger, Tom felt his girl body maturing into a more womanly shape, ripening like fruit. Hips and thighs broadened and thickened. Butt and breasts swelled. Legs lengthened longer.
His boy clothes were soon stretched to their limit by all this expanding flesh. His t-shirt clung skin-tight to his ballooning breasts, as his shorts split open in the back and popped the button and zipper open in the front.
Invisible to anyone watching was a deeper change. The addition of years and an accompanying maturity within Tom’s mind altered how he saw himself in some fundamental way. Maybe it was because of the flood of estrogen or the overwhelming sensations of a female body approaching adulthood in a matter of seconds. Whatever the reason, the boy Tom had been only moments ago felt eclipsed by the new teen girl who had replaced him, reversing Tom’s own perception of his identity. No longer was there a sense of being a man trapped in a boy’s body or a girl’s body. Now, Tom’s mind was intertwined with this voluptuous body. Tom was a teen girl just the same inside as outside. She felt as female as she appeared. An overwhelming sensuality that was as intense as it was novel had overcome her, leaving her hungering for erotic thrills.
“Hmm,” she moaned, her dainty fingers exploring the contours of her breasts, then traveling down her skinny waist to the width of her hips, savoring her new shapely hourglass figure. “So… good.”
“Tiffany?” Janice asked. “What are you doing?”
Hearing that voice, Tiffany felt as though she had been splashed with cold water, jolting her back into awareness of where she was and what was happening. Her hands stopped fondling, and she looked over at Janice, her ex-girlfriend. They had dated before, when Tiffany had been a man named Tom. Although that seemed like a whole lifetime ago now, Tiffany could remember it clearly. She had come here for help but only ended up even further from the body and life she had wanted to get back. Now, it seemed that her mind had been transformed as well. Looking at Janice, Tiffany could no longer sense the attraction she had felt for her as a man. Instead, Tiffany had a sense that her preferences had reversed along with her gender. Just wondering how she might react to a handsome boy, gave her a hint of unaccustomed excitement.
“Oh no,” Tiffany said, holding her head in her hands. “Damn it, Celia... She’s messing with my mind, now.”
“What’s the matter?” Janice asked, sounding genuinely confused. “What’s going on?”
Tiffany ignored her and stood up, feeling unsteady with all the new weight pulling on her in unusual places. She regained her balance and headed back to the bathroom, trying to ignore all the new bouncing and swaying that occured as she walked.
Seeing her reflection in the mirror, Tiffany was shocked, not by what had changed but by what had not changed. Her face looked very much the same as it had done only minutes ago before the licorice transformation. Despite all the new curves, she guessed that she had only grown a year or two older. No doubt, she could not even be 15 years old now. Looking down at herself, she saw a body shape that was well ahead of where it should be at this age. It was such a stunning sight that she nearly missed that her shorts had secretly repaired themselves at some point, along with the mysterious appearance of new underwear cupping her ample breasts.
Tiffany looked back into the eyes of the girl reflected in the mirror, recognizing fear there. This body was wrong, perverted even. She was too young to look this old. How was she supposed to handle this body at this age, while at the same time coming to terms with her altered mind?
Tears began to form in her eyes.
“Janice!” Tiffany called to the woman in the other room and then sniffled. “I wanna go home.”

As they pulled up to Tiffany’s home, Janice admitted, “I don’t really understand what’s going on anymore. I know you were visiting me for a reason, but, for the life of me, I can’t recall what that was. Something about the past… What was it?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Tiffany said, getting out of the car. “It doesn’t matter anymore.” She shut the door, and Janice drove off, most likely forgetting the whole experience by the time Tiffany was out of sight. With Janice gone, the new reality, at last, had settled into consistency.
Tiffany entered the house, preparing herself mentally to confront her newly female bedroom. She was so preoccupied with this that it gave her a sudden shock to discover Celia sitting in the living room, waiting for her.
“Hi, Tom,” Celia said. “What did your old girlfriend think of your new body?”
“What are you doing here?” Tiffany replied.
“I came over to babysit and witness my new handiwork,” Celia said, standing up and approaching Tiffany. “And, I have to say you look…” Celia paused and frowned. “Not… right.” She stepped closer to examine Tiffany better. “No. Something is definitely wrong,” Celia said.
“I’m a girl,” Tiffany said. “Of course something is wrong.”
“Shh,” Celia shushed her. “I need to focus.” Celia’s determined eyes glowed a faint blue as she held her hands out to sense something arcane emanating from Tiffany.
Tiffany waited until Celia lowered her hands and her eyes dimmed. “What’s the matter?” Tiffany asked. “You look worried?”
“What did you eat?” Celia inquired.
Tiffany described the meal and the two candies.
Celia contemplated for a moment before her expression shifted from a frown to a look of shocked realization. “The chocolate!” she declared.
“You mean the cherry treat?”
Celia nodded. “The cherry was formulated to make you female, but I wanted to try crafting something more than a basic candy, so I made chocolates. The actual chocolate encasing it was not enchanted, and I made sure it would not affect the cherry on its own. But, the spell from the licorice directly interacting with the cherry spell must have activated the chocolate in some way.”
“So,” Tiffany said. “That’s what made me all…?” she gestured down at her chest and hips.
Celia nodded.
“My mind, too?”
Celia nodded, again. “Listen,” she said. “I need to go home to do some research and experiments. Wait here, stay out of trouble, and whatever you do, don’t eat anything.”
Tiffany nodded and Celia left.

Celia returned later just as Tiffany was finishing up using the toilet, which had been a disorientingly unusual experience with her new anatomy.
Tiffany met Celia in the living room. The fact that the older girl looked worried killed any hope of turning back to normal soon.
“I think I was right about the chocolate,” Celia said,” but it might be even worse that I thought.”
Tiffany sat down on the couch to take in the bad news. “What is it?”
Celia took a seat beside Tiffany and asked, “Could I test something on you? I need to be sure.”
Tiffany said, “Okay, what do you need…?”
“Just be quiet a moment, and keep your lips closed. Okay?”
Tiffany nodded and watched Celia reach into her bag, pull out a chocolate bar, and unwrap it. Then, Celia briefly pressed the chocolate to Tiffany’s closed lips. When Celia removed the chocolate, Tiffany felt a momentary tingle followed by the sensation of her lips swelling slightly. Celia used a tissue to wipe Tiffany’s lips, but they did not shrink back to their previous size.
“Just like I thought,” Celia said, putting down the chocolate and tissue. “You can open your mouth, now.”
Tiffany did and ran her tongue over her bigger lips. “What is it?” she asked.
“Your transformation is not stable,” Celia explained. “The mixing of the chocolate with the cherry and licorice has given you some kind of magical allergy to chocolate, now.”
“What does that mean?” Tiffany asked, looking at the chocolate bar, feeling an odd craving for the sweet taste of it.
“It means if you eat more chocolate, any chocolate at all, then your body and mind will react the same way as they did earlier today. You’ll get more… feminized.”
Tiffany sighed and asked, “Can you fix this?”
“Maybe,” Celia replied. “I’ll need time to conduct more experiments. For now, though, until I have a solution, stay away from chocolate. I can’t predict exactly how the spells on you will react to it, but the effects will only get stronger the more contact you have with it. Understand?”
Tiffany nodded. “No chocolate. I get it.”
Celia looked genuinely apologetic for the first time since this whole ordeal began. “I had only meant for this to be temporary,” however, was the best she could do in lieu of an actual apology. “Until I can figure out a cure, though, you’ll just have to live with it.”
“You mean,” Tiffany asked, glancing down at her tits. “I have to go to school looking like this tomorrow.”
Celia nodded.
Tiffany frowned, wondering how she would survive middle school looking like this.
