<<Previous (6.2.1) / Outline
Feeling that Mr. Blair deserved some karmic retribution, Tim decided to reduce the history teacher’s age to make him a little younger than the high school students he callously tormented.
Tim edited the caption to make Mr. Blair 14 years old and saved it.
As the three of them reached the bottom of the stairs, Tim shared a look with Chris and gave him a wink. Then, he gestured toward Mr. Blair, walking in front of them.
As the app’s progress bar began filling, the two boys could not detect any immediate change to the teacher. Tim thought he noticed some gray hairs disappearing in Mr. Blair’s dark hair but it might have just been a trick of the light.
“Mr. Blair,” Chris said, trying to get him to turn around, “can we make a pit stop? I need to use the toilet.”
Mr. Blair turned, and the two boys smirked when they saw he had become a man just barely in his twenties. His clothes fit a bit more loosely, having lost some excess weight.
“I told you to keep your mouth shut,” he said, sounding much less tired and worn out than he had done before. At that moment, his body was in the prime of his life, but it would not last.
As Mr. Blair started his descent backwards through his teen years, the boys hurried up to flank him and get a better view of his changes. He slimmed down, losing muscle mass. Childhood creeped back into his body, softening his features, swallowing up traces of maturity little by little. The shape of his jaw rounded. His 5-o’clock-shadow beard faded away, leaving behind only patchy stubble. Soon, Tim noticed that he was standing the same height as the teacher, who seemed to be dropping backwards through a rapid reverse growth spurt.
“Mr. Blair?” Chris said, trying to suppress a smirk. “You feelin’ alright?”
“What did I just…?” Mr. Blair started to say, but the croaky teenage tone of his voice shocked him into silence. He coughed to clear his throat. “Didn’t I tell you…?” he said and appeared genuinely worried when he heard his own childishly squeaky voice, high enough that it was hard to distinguish it from Chris’s now.
As if to punctuate his sudden realization that something was wrong, Mr. Blair’s pants chose that moment to slip down his legs to his knees, tripping him up. He stopped walking to pull up his pants, and discovered that his clothes were now several sizes too big for his youthful body.
“Oh my God!” he said, sounding like a frightened child. “What happened to me?”
“Looks to me…” Chris said, staring Mr. Blair eye-to-eye, “...like you are a bit too young to be ordering us around anymore.”
The fear in the regressed teacher’s eyes was comical as he looked back and forth at the relative size of the boys beside him, coming to the dreadful realization that the two of them were bigger than he was. It seemed that Mr. Blair had been quite a late bloomer, meaning that at 14 he appeared barely old enough even for middle school.
Suddenly, Chris gave Mr. Blair a quick shove, throwing him back so fast that he slipped out his shoes and dropped to his butt on the floor.
“Stop!” Tim said, holding Chris back.
Chris laughed at the sight of tears forming in the former teacher’s eyes, just as Blair’s baggy clothes shrunk down to fit his boyish frame, further emphasizing all the size and age he had lost. Smaller shoes reappeared on his feet, and the physical changes were complete.
“Help me,” little Blair begged. “I-I’m sorry.”
Tim shook his head. “Too late,” he replied. “Welcome back to childhood, asshole.”
Tears ran down Blair’s cheeks, as the app signaled the approaching end of the changes with a whining sound that grew in volume. Then, when the sound reached its peak, a bright flash of light burst from Tim’s phone, blinding them all, followed by silence and a moment of relative darkness.
When their vision had cleared, Tim and Chris found themselves standing over a crying boy, sitting on the floor, whimpering fearfully beneath them.
“P-please,” Keith Blair begged them. “Please don’t hurt me.”
Even Chris was too merciful to continue bullying such a pathetic freshman boy. “Get out of here,” Chris said in disgust. “Now.”
Keith scrambled to his feet and ran off to a nearby bathroom, probably to hide away and dry his tears.
Tim felt bad, but before he could fully consider what he had done, Chris had already nudged his arm.
“Come on,” the little bully said. “I know a secret way out of the building.”
Chris led the way and Tim followed, closing up the app as they made their escape.
What will they do when they get out, though?
Chris becomes Tim’s younger brother. (6.2.1.1.1)
They go to Chris’s house to plan their next move.
They go shopping for new targets.
They get stopped by the police.
