If all you want is the new A Nice Cuppa expansions then yes it's cheaper to order through the website...at Kickstarter the shipping will be a minimum of $17 to Canada, $20 to EU and $21 anywhere else as all packages are tracked. We can ship these as untracked letters for about $3 (shipping is included in the item price at the website).

(this is a repeat but it wasn't getting any traction - and the Kickstarter ends soon) One of the above comments stated that it was better/cheaper shipping to order directly from website for the Nice Cuppa expansion than to go through the Hyperstar Run Kickstarter - is this true for International Patreons? i.e. is it still cheaper to order from the website than to back a Kickstarter campaign? I'm new to the club and I'm sure it will make more sense after a few months but for now I'm floundering a bit (also, the International wrinkle makes things less clear).

If you stay in the club, I recommend Mysticana if you are a fan of classic card games. Starting if Feb since that seems to be your first package, you will receive 7 Mysticana expansions, one each month. The first 4 were Cave of Djinns, Arcane Artifacts, Wild Magic, and Harbingers for 2025 and Jan had Curse of Dragons. You can get the missing expansions later when thy hit the BS store.

I understand but I don’t know for sure. Try leaving a separate post here with this info and they might see it a little easier.

Does this cost effective shipping feature also apply to International Patreons? i.e. is it still better to order from the website than to back a Kickstarter campaign? I'm new to the club and I'm sure it will make more sense after a few months but for now I'm floundering a bit (also, the International wrinkle makes things less clear).

Thank you Will!

@zachary Will's explained things well above (thanks Will) and has covered everything. We know it's a little funky getting expansions for games you don't own, or one or two expansions in a set of three, that are later offered only as a full expansion collection. This improves as your membership period increases so shouldn't last more than a few months. It's also worth checking out the preview post for the following month to pick the best time to join to avoid any duplication - being a free member should notify you when those posts are made.

Button Shy

There's no plan to offer the individual expansions or empty wallets for these collections.

Button Shy

Yes. If you backed the Kickstarter and joined the club since, you'll be able to switch it out that month.

Will Templeton

@Zachary: there is unfortunately sometimes a little weirdness and overlap with some expansions at the start of a club membership, since expansions are often released over time and then collected in a wallet. Worth noting though that some of those expansions have come to the club previously, and that's only the case because of when your join date happens to be. You won't have this problem going forward with expansions that release for future games. And in addition, worth noting that not every game comes to Kickstarter - Super Slopes itself was originally released through the club with no crowdfunding campaign. I think maybe I'd recommend a free membership at Patreon for now. That way you can still be notified each month of what's happening, get a feeling for how it works, and judge if it makes sense for you.

Will Templeton

@Sharn: I think you got your answer in the Discord, but just in case: when it comes to Kickstarters, there is always a section right at the top of the post that lists what's coming to the club and what isn't. In this case, the new expansions for A Nice Cuppa will come separately, and will need to be bought from the website. If you have the existing two, you can buy a back that matches the add-on pack, with the new two and an empty wallet. If you don't have any, you can wait and buy the full expansion collection when it releases.

I’m a bit unimpressed so far with how it all works, and I hope it isn’t designed to be this way all year. For example, I see one Super Slopes expansion for the January offering, but I’d like all the expansions so I would probably want to buy the collection currently available for preorder. So what value will I be getting from the club if it makes more sense for what I want if I’m double buying? Trying to reserve judgement until I see the actual process, but I hope the offerings aren’t just pieces of a bigger collection that I’ll need to “double buy” if I want the whole collection.

sharn_☕Or☠

But is there a place to know which expansions will come in the club? I'm not finding individual expectations on the website. So it seems that I'd have to back in KS +risk getting the extra from the club just to ensure I can get both expectations.

Will Templeton

Yep! If you look back in the Patreon, you'll see posts titled Choose Your Game - there's one for each month, and there'll be one for each game shortly before it ships. If you don't want the game for that month, you just fill out the form linked in that post that says what you want instead. Make sure you're set up to get notified for new Patreon posts though, as they aren't announced elsewhere.

Will Templeton

I love the Rove series, Count of the Nine Estates, Food Chain Island, and Ancient Realm. Very close follow up is The Royal Limited.

Zachary Bell

Thanks a lot. So for January, we’ll still get an email on what we choose to receive for the month?

Will Templeton

If you know you want this game and you want to be in the club, the most convenient thing is to just sign up to the club and not the Kickstarter. There's a little nuance sometimes (for example, the A Nice Cuppa expansions available in the campaign but not at the club, detailed in the post), but just joining the club will guarantee no duplicates. However, there's a system to deal with those who backed the campaign and joined the club: the month that Hyperstar Run is due, you'll be able to swap the game you get through the club to something from the back catalogue instead, through a post that's made shortly before shipping.

Zachary Bell

I’m pretty confused about this $18/mo pledge. Will the monthly offerings always be something new that I might not have mistakenly already bought? Is there a good summary of how this works somewhere? For this new Kickstarter, I should avoid buying the new core game if I only want one copy since I’ll get it later, right?

Joshua Poblano

That's awesome to hear! I'm new to Buttonshy. My only game is Nice Cuppa. What other single player games do you recommend?

Justin Antezana

This one is a blast!

Joshua Poblano

I just watched the game play from one shop and it looked pretty fun.

Rick Hoover

Will Glass Garden be a club game?

sharn_☕Or☠

Will any of the new additions to the website also offer expansions as individual items instead of in the collection wallets? i.e. Black Diamond or Rin Mana And will empty expansion wallets be available on the website too?

Justin Antezana

Is it more helpful for you all if we go through the site to order just the *not to club* stuff or just go through the Kickstarter and only add those on? ANSWER: Got the official word to use the website for not to club stuff: will be easiest for them and less on shipping than KS for us.

Justin Antezana

Super stoked for Hyperstar Run! Such a good game and the expansions are excellent! Love me some achievements during playtesting. They made the game super replayable!!! so I cannot wait to play the real game soon!
