Finally, I got something in with this character, the Shadow Queen! It's odd to hear, but for months, heck, even a few years, I've been hitting my head on a wall trying to figure out a way to update the way I draw her; her hair was the most troublesome. Most of the time, I kept doing too much detail, or the shape was not very satisfactory.
That is, until I finally hit inspiration, with a Ms. Hestif commission I made around last year... The wide ribbon-like hair was suitable to the Shadow Queen's original game appearance (also ribbon-like hair), while allowing me to give her a few extra locks. Meanwhile, the body and "face" remained more or less the same.
It was going so well, I figured I'd draw her throne room too! Avid players would recognise this as the arena where Mario and friends face Grodus for the climactic battle...

Aaah, glad you saw that! That would be a human form of Lady Bow, the Boo girl from the first Paper Mario game. I drew her before for a friend's commission, and felt like putting her in there to tease some potential future fun for Vivian.
