This show came out when I was in 2nd grade and was an ever-present part of my formative years, getting cancelled when I was high school. Watching with you guys has been a real privilege. It took me becoming an adult to fully appreciate DS9 and Voyager but for most of my life TNG was peak Star Trek I had spent the bulk of my formative years with the crew of the Enterprise-D and I was not at all ready for the finale

I’m not ready for it to be over either, Alex. You and Josh once said that the Enterprise-D feels like your home and these characters feel like family. This is how I have felt for decades since 1987. That is why this series is often revered by the general public as the best Star Trek series. Someone on this thread stated that the best is yet to come. Unfortunately, that is not altogether true. There will be different Trek, much of it amazing in its own right, but these characters…this family…will never again be duplicated. I’ll be feeling it all over again when you and Josh end the series. It’s been a fun time for me to watch every episode through your eyes! 🖖

They did a promo for the final episode that showed scenes from all the seasons and a slow piano theme. I haven’t seen it since like 1994.

A few specific S7 episodes might alter your feelings, Alex. Better to have had a very mixed final season than to end on S6, when the show was at its peak. That way it was clear the show couldn't continue on and on without a fall off in quality.

I got into trek when I was 11 when whatever local station that aired TNG ran a multi-day marathon of TNG episodes right before the finale. The show stays with you regardless of whether or not there are new episodes. It isn't the end.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing y’all grow to love these characters and this show. TNG was the Trek I grew up on. When I was bullied and lonely in school, this show is what I turned to, to escape reality. There are other great Treks, but this one will always hold a special place for me. Alex and Josh, thank you for doing it justice. Here’s to the journey 🖖
