A setup episode indeed, but well-written and the last 5 minutes is very tense.

You guys might have missed a massive insight on the star character of the show. After Holden see's how easily Dawes manipulates the various Belters, and talks to Fred Johnson about the Proto Molecule scientist Cortizar. He comes to the conclusion that if there is more proto molecule out there, then Fred (and even more so Dawes) are not going to be able to prevent its use. He sneaks out of bed, grabs his side arm and goes out to execute Cortazar.

Worf and Riker Ride Again

One thing to know about The Expanse is that in each season (this being the start of the 2nd season proper) the action ramps up throughout. Also, you cannot predict where the story is going... :)

The OPA consists of multiple different factions, they don't have a leader or structure like the UN or Mars does. Daws leads Ceres, Johnson leads Tycho Station, but there are bigger factions, we just don't get to see them much. Blacksky is one of them, they are the ones who tried to assassinate Avasarala.

As has been mentioned in the show, Amos is from Earth. Baltimore, specifically. Holden is from Montana.

Ganymede is a moon of Jupiter. You can clearly see Jupiter in the background. Mars has (had) 2 moons, one of which Earth destroyed a few episodes back. The Martian moons are basically captured asteroids...tiny. Not even enough gravity to meaningfully walk around on. And there would be ZERO chance of UN Marines anywhere near Mars.
