To me it epitomizes TNG. Both shows had the exact same plot. One took it and went for a dramatic, fast paced adventure story of stakes and personal drama, and the other went for Decaf Trek: no stakes, no danger, no action, no nothing. One show a guy is committing suicide, the other show a kid plays with blocks.

As bad as the Naked Now is, it's one of the few Season One episodes that don't go at a slug's pace... so bad, but not that bad? Of the episodes screened thus far: Justice, When the Bough Breaks, Up The Long Ladder, Shades of Gray... I'm probably forgetting something

Listening to this discussion now, I wish I was in your state to discuss this show in depth with you because I can't square the circle of knocking mediocre kids shows but also somehow saying you like Alexander.

If I had to pick which is the worst I've seen it might be the one where the Ferengi fall in love with Troi's mother, or maybe the one where Wesley gets the death penalty for walking on the grass. It's tough because there are so many bad ones. Oh the one with the space Irish people was pretty bad. Oh, and as someone pointed out, The Naked Now. That's the one I would submit alongside The Naked Time as the best way to compare and contrast the two shows.

I've been a firm believer in all Trek is good Trek but this one makes me rethink that opinion often. It's just one of those that is meh...whatever. I'll agree to D, just can't give the E lol.

I rather liked this one. I know it’s an unpopular opinion. I had imaginary friends as a kid. For some reason we were a crew and I was the captain. Not sure where I got that from. For the record, I despise Risa. Please find other vacation destinations, crew!

Would’ve been much more powerful if it was a story about Alexander who saw K’hleyr, and we have no idea why. As it is, this episode adds nothing to Trek lore. It’s instantly forgettable.

Is this one bad? Yes. Is it the worst? Maybe? Honestly I have always found it simply too overwhelmingly boring to have much more of an opinion about it than that.

Up the Long Ladder. Oh my God. The Space Irish episode was so fucking embarrassing to watch. The Naked Now... Just unspeakably bad... hideously sexist as well. [Redacted! Sorry!] There are a couple still to come that I can't mention here.
