I think overall, Amos is my favorite character. The others have their moments, but Amos is consistently good. Sort of like Jayne without any of the humor. Love it. Amos or Jayne: who would you pick?

There was controversy over the casting for Amos when it was first announced, because the actor doesn't fit the description in the books. Those complaints stopped VERY fast once the show started airing. Knocked it out of the park.

Honestly the fact that Amos grew up and worked in Baltimore Whorehouses, both good and bad, but ends up a jacked meat hook with engineering skill makes him one of the hardest but occasionally one of the most compassionate characters. That calm, rapidly decisive attitude is a joy to watch.
