Oh man, I so want to make my standard comment for this film but it would be a spoiler. ☹️ So, for here I will stick with.....I wish they had stuck with the original explanation at the character's creation for why Flash is so athletic & capable on Mongo instead of this film claiming it is because he is one of the New York Jets.

David Wald

I remember seeing this in the movie theater! Great music. The villain was very well-acted.

Dread_Monkeylord

Nice, not sure if the guys will like that one or not, but I love Flash Gordon.

Jim J

what a hoot!

Ricky

I know why this movie really won, lol. Good job guys. Good job.

James H

Always been a fan of the 1930’s Flash Gordon serials, but I’ve only seen bits of the 1980 one. Should be good fun, though. You’ll recognize Melody Anderson from Battlestar Galactica (Experiment in Terra).

Jeffrey

TA's reaction to this will have a big effect on what I pick for my year 2 Bridge Crew movie

JoeyVettes

2 great movies Deep cuts to watch are prisoners of the lost universe and hawk the slayer. B movie schlock but great movies!

JoeyVettes

One of those so bad it's good movies. Enjoy... the queen soundtrack is good though.

captveg

"He's a miracle!"

captveg

Awesome. A movie I find to be a ton of fun provided one goes along with the pulp sci-fi/fantasy vibes. I got to see the film theatrically at Fantastic Fest 2018. Total blast to watch with a crowd. I know you guys won't be having that experience but it grew my heart a few sizes that day for this flick.

Nolan

Also, enjoy the copywrite strikes on this one for the soundtrack alone. Thank Ian for the editing NIGHTMARE, Josh. 🙃

Nolan

Flash Gordon inspired Star Wars. Star Wars inspired this movie. It's sure, SOMETHING.

Ken R

Shame on them if that's the case. There is nothing not to like about this movie if you approach it correctly.

DISPATCH WAR ROCKET AJAX

Collin Freeman

He'll save everyone of us.

Thicketdweller

Right on! Just the right amount of surreal

Axis 77

YAAAAAAAAAASSSS!!

Devon Cooper

Yesssss!!! Classic! Can’t wait!

Doug

I've wanted to see this movie for a while since it looks so cheesy

Mike Rogers

We'll see, I think they will embrace the campiness of it.

Mike Rogers

The effects were very ambitious. They used the largest blue screen ever at the time.

Mike Rogers

The villian has to be prepared..

Mike Rogers

You guys never saw Flash Gordon?! OMG, you're gonna have a ball with it!

T’Pynyn of Vulcan

I LOVE the theme by Queen! It's a trippy movie.

Alan Thompson

Once you are past spoilers this film lends itself to some of the behind the scenes youtube videos. To say it was a bizarre filmshoot would put it mildly, you aren't even hearing the Flash's actors real voice for 99% of it.

StealthMomo

I see what you did there 😄

StealthMomo

Wow. Really? You must be a real joy at parties. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

StealthMomo

YES!!! This movie is so much fun. You’re gonna enjoy this one guys.

KatWithAttitude

I could never figure out why Ming's ship at the beginning had an earthquake button when they had barely heard of Earth.

Jason Lallathin

You beat me to it

KatWithAttitude

Hey, I actually own that movie! As a Queen fan, sweet!

Echo Moon

This is such a quirky 80s film, I hope you guys enjoy it. My fav character is Prince Vultan played to the highest hilt by the incomparable Brian Blessed. Brian is..let's say...a unique guy. When he was in his late 20s he delivered a baby in a park in London, bit thru the umbilical cord, and licked the baby's face clean so it would take a breath. The dude is legendary. :)

Echo Moon

"Savior of the Universe! Flash! Aah-AAAAAA, He'll save everyone of us!"

Chtphr Rrr

OMG. Now THAT'S a reaction movie! I remember seeing that in the movie theater when it came out. Too bad you can't see and hear some of that in a theater. That was the first time that I had heard of a band called Queen; that seemed to be why a lot of the people in the audience were there. Imagine going to see that movie when you were in elementary school, when you had no idea what you were getting into.

Raphael Gaytan

OH, HELL YEAH!!!!! The ultimate in camp…and fun as hell!! Let’s see if Josh and Alex can switch off the electron microscope and just have a good time! Cheesy dialogue, mid-level special effects, rampant misogyny (especially in the costume department), awesomely absurd set pieces, and killer soundtrack…and it’s all so freakin’ great!! And I hope they don’t say it’s a product of its time, because hokey, goofy shit is being made all the time today. I’d like to point out the Fast and Furious franchise as evidence!

James Bottas

Flash! Aah-AAAAAAAAA

Numinous2019

I'm confident that neither Josh nor Alex will enjoy this. I say that as someone who does.

Mister Hope

WRONG

Terminaldogma01

Hell yeah! I just got the 4K release, a couple months ago

Todd Pritchett

Oh man I hope you watch the 4k disc, the HDR on this movie is TOP NOTCH! It REALLY adds to the experience, it's like it adds a layer of candy coating to the whole thing it's great. It's one of those 4k discs that is a huge step up from the blu ray or streaming.

Julie Carter

Flash! Aaahhhhh! He saved everyone of us!

startrekiborg

Awesome!!!!

Ken R

Such a fun movie. My two best friends and I ran to see this opening day. It kind of falls into the so bad it's good category but it really isn't that bad, and I've loved FG since PBS used to run the 1936 version. He's one of the fathers of sci-fi and superheroes.

Regan

Skip the shockingly bad movie and just get yourselves a copy of the soundtrack.

Prof Moff

Is this "Flesh Gordon" from the early 70's?

EnigmaticPenguin

It's a fun movie. It's unapologetically a 1980's adaptation of the Flash Gordon serials. It might not be the movie some people wanted, but it's absolutely faithful to the source material. Can't say that about many movies now.
