REMAKE - Walkby Overhaul
🕑 Added 2020-12-26 18:12:21 +0000 UTCBeen wanting to redo this for a while because... that mod overrides too many resources from the game and conflicts with too many things, I don't like to do it... so I reworked it to inject the filters, instead. As a result, this mod should now reduce the risk of conflicting to a minimum, in fact... it should not conflict with anything at all.
This mod now needs INJECTION TOOLS by BrainBlasted
Works the same as before, but better... you'll see only residents around in residential neighbourhood, less sims from other world in general in venues too, the game will always try to pick residents first. Place some sims not in world to not reduce too much the walkby around.
Important jobs should not be affected.
Also:
- Should block the Sages from showing around
- Occults will be more rare in general, they're not blocked though
- Strangerville Infected Sims are blocked from appearing in other places
Also includes Don't turn NPCs into spellcasters (which should block no occult sims from being turned altogether but still doesn't work with NPCC... if you have NPCC, sims from non played other households (not in world) can still be turned into spellcasters from the game.
- Glimmerbrook and Forgotten Hollow are restricted to mages and vampires, if you place non mages or vampire in those world, though, they will show up as walkby... if you want your source of blood in FH, place a family of non vampires there, they'll be naively strolling around... so the restriction is flexible. Non Occult NPCS should also show up in venues, to block the, the best method is using LMSSam lot trait HERE
- THERE ARE TWO VERSION - pick only one:
The normal one doesn't block celebrities in Del Sol Valley
The Celebrity Quarantine one does.
This mod should also inject Dog Walkers and Strays in other worlds (not many though)
Benefit of updating to this version:
The mod will not need to be removed every patch because Maxis added something to the filters. The filters altered are very few (the chess player to be Adults and up, and the Dancers to remove Elders from nightclubs, that's all) all the others are modified via injection.
Both the old version of this mod and Celebrity Quarantine will now be unsupported.
UPDATES:
04/01/2021 - According to Maxis toddlers cannot spawn at the playground, but they can and will spawn at the gym if you restrict the filter. Fixed.

It's a filter not allowing the Sims to spawn not a bug. I'll see to fix it but it's not a priority for me. If there are various alternatives to this it's even less of a priority since I'm not using spa day more than before (which was nearly at all)

I haven't tested it, I have no interest in the new spa day activities so I've yet to even see what they added. Let me know if it's the case but no random it's more likely to cause problems in that case.

Does this mod have an issue with the new spa update? I heard that Kuttoe updated Home Regions mod due to an issue with yoga classes not starting. I believe this mod has the same issue because I had it and disabled this mod and was able to use the yoga instructor again.

Some conflict may arise with Lotharihoe's mod and if you have that you don't need this one at all. NPCC shouldn't conflict with this one.

Hi! Do you think NPCC and Sim Spawn Overhaul (by Lotharihoe) can be used together without conflicts? Or do I really need your Walkby Overhaul if I use NPCC?

No. The realm is different, those Sims have a special role.

Hi Zer0, it is possible to assign NPC jobs like bartender, Butler, maid etc in Forgotten Hollows to vampire only as you did with NPC vendor in Glimmerbrook? I tried to use your Assign NPC roles but they still picking non vampires. It's weird seeing a normal NPC bartender in a vampire night club

nope it doesn't conflict. Yamachan shows up at festivals, as a walk by and if the statue is placed.

Hey Zero: will this new brainblasted injector conflict with the scumbobo xml injector? Doesn't Yamachan show up only where his "Statue" is placed? By the way he is my favorite and least annoying EA character that EA has put out.

Thank you for this - my game seems much more natural now! One request - would you consider excluding teens for walkbys during school hours? That always sticks out to me when my straight-A overachiever is wandering around town when they're theoretically at school. :P Thanks!

I relaxed the filter a bit anyway to prevent roles from not getting filled... some like the chef in retaurant don't seem to like a regional filter

Ooooh, I understand. the only not in world sims that I had was the usual ones, celebrities (that showed up everywhere), father winter and such, but no random NPC indeed. I guess I'll have to put some townies in there. Thank you, you're forever my Hero :)

Do you have enough not in world sims to cover roles in your world? Because if there aren't enough sims, then it's intended behavior

The mod (Celebquarantine version) blocks DJs from spawning, even after hiring. I tested it on a new save and a vanilla game. I can't tell if they're prevented or invisible, because after I remove the mod, they spawn normally to do their job, and they're 2 of them: the one I hired and the one who had to spawn. With the mod, the game tells there's already a DJ on the lot, after hiring, but no one ever shows up. Edit: Well I kept testing and actually no NPCs ever come to venues. I still have only the mod and the injection Tool in the mod folder. No workers in the restaurant nor the spa. As far as I can see, only the mixologist (picked amongst the residents) shows up.
