TRAITS
Legendary Resistance (1/Day) - If Asheling Risevinter fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.
Magic Resistance - Asheling Risevinter has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Ice Queen - At the start of her turn in combat, Asheling’s body becomes covered in a thin transparent layer of ice, granting her 10 Temporary Hit Points. If these temporary hit points are reduced to 0, shards of the ice explode off of her body, causing each creature within 5 ft. to make a DC 23 Dexterity Saving Throw. Failure: The creature takes 1d10 Piercing damage and 2d6 Cold damage. Success: The creature takes no Piercing damage and only half Cold damage.
Arcane Secrets - Asheling has access to all spells with the Ritual tag.
ACTIONS
Multiattack - Asheling makes two Gale Hammer attacks. She can replace any attack with three uses of her Rime Ray.
Gale Hammer - Melee Attack Roll: +15 to hit, reach 10ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8+6) Force damage. On a hit, the target must make a DC 23 Strength saving throw. Failure: The creature is pushed 30-feet in any direction and falls prone. Success: Pushed 15-feet and not knocked prone.
Rime Ray - Ranged Attack Roll. +15 to hit, range 120ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8+6) Cold damage. A creature hit by this attack has their Speed reduced by 20-feet until the end of their next turn.
Polar Plunge (Recharge 6) - Asheling unleashes a blast of magical snow and frigid air in a 30 ft. Emanation centered on herself. All creatures in the area that she chooses take 28 (8d6) Cold damage and must make a DC23 Constitution saving throw. Failure: The creature is Paralyzed, by the freezing cold. At the end of the creature’s turn, they may repeat the Saving Throw to end the Paralyzed condition. If a creature Paralyzed by this ability takes Fire damage, the condition immediately ends.

BONUS ACTIONS
Hibernal Hex (Recharge 5-6) - Asheling places a curse on a creature within 90-feet. While under the effect of the curse, the creature takes an additional 1d6 Necrotic damage from all of Asheling’s attacks and spells. Additionally, that creature has Disadvantage on any Attack Rolls made against Asheling for the duration. The curse lasts for 1 minute and can be ended early by a Remove Curse spell.
REACTIONS
Sparkling Escape (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest) - In response to taking damage, Asheling may use her reaction to disappear in a display of flashy frozen fractals that gleam brilliantly, teleporting up to 60-feet to an unoccupied space she can see. All enemies in 15-feet Radius must make a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or become Stunned and Charmed until the end of their next turn.
Protective Magic (5/Day) - Asheling casts Counterspell or Shield in response to the spell’s trigger, using the same spellcasting ability as Spellcasting.
Blessing of Sacred Waters (Recharges after a Long Rest) - If Asheling would drop to 0 hit points as a result of taking damage, she can drop to 1 hit point instead and teleport 120 ft away from the source of the damage.
Notes - Like the season it embodies, The Winter Court of the Feywild is a cold and harsh place full of political machinations and absolutely ruthless ideologies. In truth, a good number of the Fey Lords are actually like this, but Winter is just much more upfront about the idea. That being said, it surprises people to hear that Winter actually keeps a close relationship with a number of mortal families.
These mortal families are, of course, all elven nobilities with pureblood lines of great mages tracing back as far as anyone cares to look. They send their children to study under the former Winter Knight, Far Dorich, in the hopes that they will become his apprentice and eventually the Winter Knight.
Asheling Risevinter was one such child. A literal princess in her home country, Asheling grew up wanting for little and was raised knowing that she was better than others. When she was sent to prove her worth in becoming the next knight, she was very briefly surprised to learn that this was the truth for every child sent to take part in this grueling test of wills. Many would crack under that kind of pressure, but for Asheling, that pressure turned her into a brilliant shining diamond.
Asheling Risevinter is an ice princess who battled against all the other ice prince/cesses of her standing and came out on top, sitting on a throne of her lessers, as a perfect example of Winter’s cold beauty and vicious cruelty.
