TRAITS
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Egghog fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Magic Resistance. The Egghog has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Keen Hearing and Smell. The Egghog has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the Egghog takes 30 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Uncanny Speed. For every 15 feet the Egghog moves in a straight toward a target in a turn, it adds 6 (1d10) Slashing damage on the next successful Tusk attack on that target.
Additionally, after moving 10ft. on its turn, the Egghog’s movement no longer provokes Opportunity Attacks.
ACTIONS
Unstoppable Charge (Recharge 5-6) - The Egghog charges up to 120ft., in a straight line. Each creature in the path of the Egghog or adjacent to it during this charge must make a DC18 Dexterity saving throw or take 60 (10d10+5) Bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. Creatures who succeed the saving throw take half damage and are not knocked prone.
This movement cannot be stopped by non-magical means and non-magical objects and structures in the hog’s path are automatically destroyed as it moves through them. Magical barriers and walls, such as those created by Wall of Stone, take double damage from this ability.
Multiattack - The Egghog makes two Tusk attacks.
Tusk - Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
NOTES
One of the world’s mythical ‘Questing Beasts’, the Egghog (as it’s come to be known) is as ornery as she is strange. Encased in what appears to be armor made of a strange porcelain-like material, the creature is said to be nearly indestructible. Adventurers who manage to hunt and trap this magnificent creature are able to gain her respect and are rewarded in turn, with an opportunity to milk the mighty beast.
Milking the Egghog requires a delicate hand, lest an adventurer cause her pain and incur her ire. To do so, you must make a DC20 Wisdom (Animal Handling) or Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check. On a failure, the Egghog immediately uses it’s Unstoppable Charge ability, and attempts to escape. On a success, you are rewarded with a small bottle of the Egghog’s milk. Thick with a faint yellowish tinge and a hint of spice, this milk is described in legend as the “Eggnog of the Gods”. You may consume this creamy concoction to gain the following benefits for 24hrs.
You gain Immunity to Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing damage from non-magical sources. If the source of the damage is magical, you have Resistance to it instead.
You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your Constitution score times five. These temporary hit points disappear after the 24 hours if they have not been used, but not before. Taking a long rest during this time also restores these temporary hit points.
When dealing damage using a Strength based attack, you double your Strength modifier when calculating damage. Additionally, creatures hit by your attacks must make a DC18 Strength check. On a failure they are moved up to 10ft. In any direction and knocked prone.
Strength based attacks made by you deal double damage to objects and structures.
