"This is why people call you heartless" - no dumbass, heartless would've been to kill you the moment she could. Frankly given all the stuff that happened so far, removing a vile's avatar would be a far better option than just attempting to halfass saving them, specially by someone with the protagonist's personality.

>"As a citizen of the empire, the woman’s understanding likely didn’t extend much beyond viewing the Tribe as remorseless terrorists." And that's enough. Their beliefs and their sob story don't matter a damn. What matters is their actions and actions only. They are remorseless. They are terrorists. That's it. They'll kill you. They'll kill your children. They'll kill your friends. There's nothing that can change it. They are the rabid dogs. No matter how sad it makes you, you can't cure them. You. Can. Not. Any mercy will bring only suffering to you and yours, and nothing more.

You're entitled to your opinion. I joined when Rosa was gethering the ingredients, and I've been really thrilled for every chapter ever-since, though perhaps if these were to be edited into a book, I'd reshuffle stuff so as Anguish Castle only being one chapter, with confrontation a second one. But all in all (and perhaps sadly) these chapters are the peak of my week. Not even considering unsubscripting, which is something that has often happened to me with these book-patreons: after binging the archive, joined patreon to read the new chapters as they come in, only to find that individually the chapters aren't that interesting. Never problem with Flamerunner! Would be really happy if Flamerunner did some slight editing on the chapters and created epubs for every arch or so. Would love to get them on my e-reader for a re-read. Royal Road doesn't really cut it, and I'm not going to download 200 individual epubs from Patreon.

So, a chapter every 3-4 days? How can that ever go wrong and bite you in the ass, eh? I've supported, at this point, more than 20 different writers on Patreon. What I've concluded is this: Great stories take time. Really. Yes even the best need time to: - Think and Decide where the plot needs to go - Write a draft to see if it is satisfying - Revise said draft, fill in plot holes. etc. - Edit all the messy stuff away At this point I'm fairly sure Flamerunners story suffers from scope creep, as well as a general lack of planning. Most characters are in need of proper development and I think 200+ chapters is more than enough time to do it. It is still an enjoyable read, however I do believe this story has lost me 20 chapters ago. Oh well, as always, this is just a personal opinion. I wish Flamerunner best of luck in his/her endeavours

Interesting at first Scarlett’s new skill appeared to be an aberration of some kind perhaps an acknowledgement of her as her original self. What she is implying if I gather correctly is much more ominous some kind of imprinted link to that being in the void.
