Yeah, I was re-reading it because I send some parts of the fic to my gf, since she thinks the dialogues are funny, and I went “wait a minute… there’s two head girls, one of them who graduated the year before?!”

Wow, thanks for pointing that out! That might be my worst continuity error yet. I must've remembered setting Penelope as Head Girl in my other HP fic. Hmm, she might be demoted to a prefect, since I gave Cassandra a bigger spotlight.

My writing process in a nutshell lol. B/c the last chapter was only focused on Daphne, the last chapter’s poll was for the NEXT chapter. So, Ch 17 will be the ball, unless I have some wild inspiration between now and then.

I have the complete opposite opinion. I prefer the AI art. I can imagine my own character but having an actual image to base it off of makes the story more real for me. Besides, anyone who doesn't want to see them can just.. not click on the link.

Yeah, my critique was mostly about the renders in general, not really about it being AI generated. On the topic of AI, would it be preferable to use an artist to do official renders? Sure, but it’s pricey, so I understand why.

That's a completely valid opinion, though not necessarily the fault of AI I'd say. Just character art in general. I OFTEN feel that way when authors in the novels I read include some pictures or art of characters after I've been developing a mental image for several books in a series. Since I don't manually sketch or draw to feed the AI I'm pretty limited to the style of characters. The AI I use tends to prefer anime-style, which is not always great for HP fans. But I only played around with it for a little bit, and was shocked by how easy it was to make fairly decent quality so thought I'd share for those interested.

The AI generated characters are okay, but honestly, I prefer when they don’t exist. I can have my own mental image, and not go (sometimes) “yeah, I didn’t picture them like that at all”
