"...and that's the last one!"
Nami sat down the last crate of harvested tangerines with a huff. Taking a moment to wipe her forehead, she smiled broadly at her sister.
"We had a great harvest this time!" Nojiko noted, "I'm glad you were here to help."
"Of course!" Nami kept her sunny smile, looking over the orchard fondly, “It’s been nice, working here again.”
"It's already been a month hasn't it?" Nojiko said with a soft tone. She sent her sister a knowing look, “Do you miss it? Adventuring with your crew?”
Nami huffed, “Do I miss getting into deadly battles with terrible pirate crews on every island I venture to? Not. at. all!”
Or so she said. But Nojiko sent a pointed look at Nami’s clima-tact holster, still strapped to her thigh as it had been the entire time she’d been here on ‘vacation’. “Really?”
“I’m serious.” Nami insisted, “...But I do miss the rest of the crew. I wonder how they are all getting along, now that we’ve split apart. It’s strange being without them again...” Her eyes went wistful as she imagined her precious friends, now all scattered around the world, chasing their own dreams.
“Any crewmate in particular?” Nojiko said with a coy smirk on her face.
Nami blinked at her, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You know what I mean.” Nojiko continued, shaking her head, “Of all the stories you’ve shared with us since you returned… There’s been one person who you keep going back to.”
Nami’s face scrunched up as she realized what her sister was implying. Who she was implying, “O-Of course I would! He’s our Captain! There’s no crew without Luffy. No adventures without him.”
The look Nojiko was giving her was bothering her in a strange way. She kept that little smirk on her lips as she pressed, “Are you sure that’s all it is? I’m beginning to think it’s a little more than that.”
Nami was about to retort when something caught her attention. She sharply turned left, and a few moments later a figure was seen rushing up the hill leading to their orchard. It was Genzo, the town mayor.
He rushed up to them in huffing breaths, and spoke quickly, "Nami, come quick!" Genzo said, "There's been a pirate ship spotted on the coast!"
As the villagers gathered in the Cocoyashi Port, a place once known as 'Arlong Park' the trepidation was clear on the faces of each person standing there. However, unlike years before, when the very mention of Pirates struck fear into their hearts, now they stood ready. After experiencing the tyranny of Arlong, they'd not so easily give themselves up again.
Not that they had anything to worry about.
The flag fluttering in the wind high above their heads was one of immense power. It alone kept the island safe from any thought of pirate raids, and under the close watch of the marines.
It was the flag of the Straw Hat Pirates! Of the reigning King!
Of all the islands in the East Blue, the Straw Hats only claimed four. They were the four islands that Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Usopp originated from.
So it was no surprise that the villagers watched the ship on the horizon approach without fear. Especially since their very own Nami, the legendary Cat Burglar was home.
Nami quickly made her way to the port, but before she even saw the shoreline, a wide smile stretched across her face.
"There's no need to worry!" She declared as she approached the crowd. The chatter of the villagers died down as they saw her.
Genzo and Nojiko appeared a few moments later, but unlike her they were heavily panting and sweating from a desperate sprint to keep pace.
"N-N-Nami... When did you get so fast?!" Nojiko gasped out with haggard breaths. Over the month she'd spent with her sister, beyond the normal changes three years could bring, Nojiko hadn't noticed that many changes in Nami. But the moment Genzo had mentioned a ship, she'd shot off like a bullet! Running that fast... was it even humanly possible?
"Hm?" Nami blinked, not even understanding the question. To her, it was nothing more than a light jog.
"Nevermind that...'' Genzo wheezed, "What are we going to do about the ship? It's too far away to discern the mark, but it definitely bears a black flag!"
Nami smiled and shook her head, after boasting so much about 'following her grand adventure' he still couldn't recognize that ship at a glance? "Don't worry." She repeated, "They're definitely not enemies."
As her words calmed the villagers she turned to look at the sea. Her senses had sharpened through the years of danger on the grandline but she still couldn't make out the ship just yet... but it didn't matter. Like all the rest of the crew, she'd awoken Haki on the most dangerous sea in the world and she could feel it clearly.
Those two... were already coming to visit her!

As the world-famous 'Thousand Sunny' slid into the gates of Cocoyashi's port, the crowd was shocked and speechless.
Even more so when, before the ship even properly docked, a figure leaped from the figurehead!
He must've flown thirty meters but hit the ground lightly as a feather. A black admiral's coat fluttered behind him, and a straw hat was held tightly against his hair. He faced them all and grinned.
"Nami!" Monkey D. Luffy, called out immediately. His eyes only saw one woman in the crowd.
Seeing the face of the great Pirate King himself, the crowd cheered wildly.
Nami was just as happy to see him, though they'd only been separated for a month, and didn't hesitate to rush over to embrace him. She hugged him tightly, not entirely realizing just how badly she'd missed him. Or why there was a sudden feeling of unease in her heart, as her Haki told her that it wasn't just the two of them aboard the ship... and she didn't recognize the others' Haki.
Luffy smiled unlike she'd ever seen before, and held her tightly. She nearly froze up as she was held in his arms like a long-lost lover. Was it her imagination? He'd never been this affectionate with her before... Either way, it sent a flutter to her chest that she couldn't explain.
Luffy was overwhelmed as well. Facing Nami once again after being 'awakened' by Robin, he couldn't believe how beautiful she was compared to his memories. Truly he had been blind before to miss something so close to him. He closed his eyes in peace as he held her tight. He'd be sure to treasure her properly from now on.
Nojiko stood beside them watching with a wide smile, a warm flush starting to enter her cheeks as she watched them. It was obvious to her what was going on between them, and she idly wondered how long Nami would take to realize it. As Luffy's eyes opened, and met hers. He went wide with momentary surprise, as if unaware of anyone else's presence. Then shot her a bright shining smile. Her heart skipped a beat.
A month ago, the Straw Hats in their entirety had docked in this very port, but Nami hadn't wanted a fuss. So they slid into Cocoyashi at night. Dropped Nami off, and slipped away without a single villager being aware.
And so this was her first time seeing Luffy in three years. The changes to his body were astounding. The once lanky boy who fought so bravely to save them was now standing tall and well-muscled. The crowd had surrounded the two now, giving greetings and warm words to Cocoyashi's saviors. But soon a sudden silence overtook them.
Nami had fallen into a trance in Luffy's embrace, but snapped out when she heard sharp intakes of breath from around them. She took a look around, and her eyes bulged.
From the deck of the Sunny, a plank was dropped to the dock. And down came a beauty beyond comparison. Another figure climbed down behind Hancock. This one was more familiar to Nami but to the crowd another otherworldly beauty. It was Nico Robin, whose eyes met Nami's directly. She wore a soft, pleased smirk as she took in Nami's expression.
Nami was numb as another followed behind Robin. And another. And another. They came down in a line, not stopping until there were nine altogether. Each one was a jaw-dropping beauty. With frightening ease, they'd stolen attention completely away from Luffy.

Nami sighed to herself as she walked along the path leading to the port. Night had fallen on Cocoyashi and what a night it'd been.
After Luffy's revelation... The villagers had insisted on throwing the... crew... a party as thanks for Luffy liberating, and protecting the island. With his love for parties, it was accepted immediately. Food and booze were quickly prepared in the center of Cocoyashi as they threw a feast for the Pirate King.

If one were to ask her which camp she was in, she wouldn't be able to give a clear answer. She'd obviously wanted to sit beside Luffy, but with Robin sitting on his right, and Hancock stealing his left, it wasn't like she had a choice. The rest of the girls all but surrounded him, standing behind him or even in front of his table as they doted on him. She didn't know how to handle the situation, as it was so bizarre.
