Jeremy's quote is from the title of a famous book called 'The Doors of Perception' by Aldous Huxley about him taking Mescaline as an experiment, the band The Doors also took their name from the book. Taking shrooms was very popular in Wales when I was in my teens/20's, partly because they're easily available as they're quite easy to find growing in the hills.

Is Mark growing on you 😂😂 seems you're getting more laughs out of him now than the first 2 seasons. We meet his sister next week, it's a good one. I see you're doing The Ricky Gervais Show on YT. Pretty sure that was the first podcast I ever listened to, it's hilarious and the animation adds so much. Shouldn't have any copyright worries with that show either, all the episodes have been up on YT for years.

Can’t beat a bit of toilet humour!!! As for drugs, never done shrooms, and the last thing I did was whizz (speed, amphet). Seems like hundreds of years ago now. But after being unable to find my c*ck for a p*ss for 4 days, I never took another thing again!! 😂

Peep Show is such a time capsule of early/mid-2000s Britain. Mushrooms were still semi-legal in the UK around the time this episode was made, or had only just been made completely illegal. There used to be a loophole that meant they were only illegal if they had been "prepared" (IE, dried or bagged) but not if they were fresh, so you could buy kits to grow them in head shops.
