Raw Latex 4, Next project(s)

SexuaLobster

One of your predictions is shrewd! I probably shouldn't spoil it so I won't say whether it's the big boss or more phalluses.

I cannot wait to see how "blonde boy" fares in the latest Latex installment. I'm asking questions to myself. I wonder if there's a Giovanni big baddie leading these dudes or if there's more strategically places phalluses. I'm really digging the Pokemon references, I hope there's more of that, too!

@RollBear I dunno, I like both of the Captain Drake songs, but I think only 2 of the 7 episodes are really any good (#5 and #7). The others were too constrained by the need to make it fast and the lack of sparkling material. It did have 12 planned episodes though so if they wanted me to finish it I've got 5 scripts of mediocre quality ready to go.

In short, we need to bug Machinima to send you massive piles of money then for more SALQ ;)

QwertyMan

Fair enough!

SexuaLobster

Part of the deal with the Space show was that Machinima owns all the intellectual property. My understanding is that I'd need to ask for permission to use any of the characters, and if I didn't it would be like me making a DBZ parody - I wouldn't truly own what I made.

QwertyMan

I don't really see the need to change from Captain Drake for that glorious song. He is a complex and multi-layered character we would all benefit from seeing more of. His familial relations are a good place to start.

The way Raw Latex will end will leave it open for future adventures. I want to be more careful with starting series in the future than I have been in the past though. If I had a good idea for more or if Jon wrote more material for it, I'd consider continuing it, as I think it's a good concept with interesting characters and a story world ripe for exploration, even if it is a massive pokemon rip off. To answer your first question: No, I severely doubt I'll be animating any more of SALQ. Machinima owns it, so I'd need their permission, and they'd own what I made. They did try to sell a new series of it last year, but if they got any interest I didn't hear about it. I've pretty much retired Manny, but Gooseman and Fernando will certainly return.

The Grease Needle

Will we ever see more of Captain Drake in story form? That series was the source of dozens of in-jokes for my friends. I'd also love to see a cartoon exploring the Manny-Gooseman-Fernando dynamic a bit more! I only recently discovered your original cartoons on Newground; it felt kind of jarring to discover those additions to your erogenous, scattered pseudo-canon. I'm super pumped for the next Raw Latex though! Sad to see that it'll only last five episodes, but you know how to make your running time count!

I can't wait to lovingly paint the gleaming carapace of an adult female scorpion...but perhaps I've said too much.

SexuaLobster

There's a couple of parts I wouldn't mind changing but overall I'm proud of the series.

Chals

Oh man, I can't wait for the full version of My Mother In Law Is a Scorpion. (Not a sentence I thought I'd ever say.)

JensranDeacon

Had to go a re-watch the whole series. Can't wait. Also I have nothing of value to contribute.
