I have finally finished all the upgrades to CC's story system. I never intended for that work to span a year. But, it's done. I was able to (finally) make a test build of the game with it. This build was made available on my Discord. I want to thank everyone that support me through that long period. My next goal will be fleshing out the fun house. However, now that CC isn't completely broken, I want to take a moment to work on an idea I thought up in January...
Infectious Designs: Bills to Pay
So, even though it's been 6 years (and I kinda sorta lost the source code...) I get question about Infectious Designs. It was my first foray trying to make games around my fetish. It was made while I was stuck in community college, so I didn't have much time to expand on it. I've made multiple attempts to continue/reboot the game, but they've all fizzled out at the design phase.
Well, the yearly Strawberry Jam is coming up. And...
I ended up getting a moment of inspiration. I'm extremely early into the idea. The gist of the game is as followed:
After racking up an obscene amount of debt from college and getting suddenly laid off from your job, you end finding yourself working for a "company" you never heard of. With no backing out and few other options, you start using your body to breed and sell parasites.
(you know, I'm starting to think there a theme to all my work here. And, it's not the parasites.)
I've learned a lot from that painful year of game development. Tracking game state, structuring information for display, (the importance of saving being a thought from the start), various design tricks for showing procgen visual. This will be a bit of a greenfield project for me. If you are in the discord, I'll be posting snippets of my work as it comes along.
Art
I don't have any personal projects coming up. I'm currently working on some commissions. Trying to get a feel for them again and figure out my prices since it's been over two years since I've done them regularly. I might have some personal ideas to work on between them, but for the moment, work outside of commissions will be spent on Chitinous Carnival and Infectious Designs: Bills to Pay.
I think that covers everything. Winter is coming to an end and my energy level is proving. So, I'm going to be working on keeping busy.
