I understand how Emily feels about that situation - but I think Mia is right here. If she turned Lorelai and Rory away, Lorelai would've moved on to the next place and she wouldn't have turned around and gone back home based on what we've heard about the past. So Mia taking them in and giving her a job saved them I feel like. it hurt seeing sookie and Lorelai fighting. I hated that 😭 Luke stays being the best 🩶

you make such a great point and I totally agree. there are so many reasons someone may be looking for safe spot and maybe they wouldn't be comfortable with saying everything, but I can guarantee if Mia turned her away, lorelai would've went somewhere else or ended up homeless like you said, chances are, she wasn't going home no matter what!

I'm totally on Mia's side as well. I get Emily's perspective but that doesn't make her right. As you mentioned just cause she tells Lorelai to go back home doesn't mean she would. That may have just made Lorelai homeless because no one would take her in. Also Mia had no real idea of what Lorelai's home life was like. If a young single mother came to me I wouldn't want to send her back to a home that may be abusive or a baby daddy who is abusive or whatever. It wasn't Mia's place to make her go home. It was Mia's place to empathetic and caring towards this poor girl who needed help. And honestly if Emily weren't so controlling and self absorbed she would understand that.
